What's up fellas I have heard a lot of mixed opinions on K&N washable filters , I plan on having my truck for 10+ years and want what's best for the longevity of my engine. What are your guys thoughts?

I have used K&N filters in multiple vehicles and have never had any issues. The bonus is they last a long time and can be cleaned and reused. More air intake for the engine is better, helps with fuel mileage and helps the motor breathe more. Money saved versus buying stock filters that need replaced. Just my two cents.

    Why do you suggest paper?

    They typically filter better.

    A good read.

Do I run one? No. I also do not keep motors over 250k miles. I personally run a synthetic fiber washable filter. I on ocation see a little fine dust downstream of the filter. I clean often though (1 time per month).

K&N, I have one in my truck HVAC filtration system. Do some research on K&N. If I see a vehicle with one that is being considered for purchase, I will not buy it.

Dodge used to offer the K&N filters at the dealership for the gas and diesel motors. Cummins flat out said they would not warranty any more "dusted" motors/turbo's from using K&N filters. That is all I needed to know about those filters. Dodge pulled the diesel motor air filters off the shelf.
