So, because of Mother Nature i have been pontificating (word of the day toilet paper) to Line - X the whole truck. Every panel has damaged, they will be repainting the whole truck anyway. Here is Line Xs demo truck.

I like it! Going to add some weight to the truck, don't know if that is an issue for you or not.

I’m liking the look, for sure. I’ve heard it can be significant weight, as @mlucas555 mentioned. I would check on this.

I'm not too worried about the weight. I'm just trying to figure out if it would be practical in the long run. I have looked at the inside of a couple of beds in the neighborhood that have a bed liner and they didn't have any damage. I would rather only replace glass instead of all the body work that's about to happen. Again just trying to figure out if it would be a waste of money and overkill or practical.

Pull the dents before doing it. My dad did a strip of Line-X on the lower portion of his truck to try and cover up a dent. The Line-X guys said that the thickness of the material over that spot may prove to be problematic over time. It was.....the line-x bubbled up within a week or so. They fixed it by stripping the area of the line-x and pulling the dent out as best they could and then reapplying the line-x. Been fine ever since.

    Something to consider.

I’m not a fan. I see what my bed looks like after a couple years of work and sunlight.

    Just being honest Pat.

    ^ This.
I am a fan, but I think it will fade and not look good after a while. That's from seeing many beds of different colors after many years of weather abuse. I really like the blue one that Grumpy posted, just don't think it will last.

I’ve seen several...not a fan either. After the initial’ that’s kind of cool’ factor wears off...one might regret it. It’s not that easily undoable. At the end of the day, it’s your ride!

No worries, Chris. My skin is old and thick. I was looking for answers that I might not have thought of.

Like has been said already, it will eventually fade. Improper prep work causing problems down the road. It would drive me batshit crazy because l couldn't shine it.

Because of all the body work and its black I'm just hoping I dont get a polished turd when done.

We talk a lot of shit on here about colors, but I can’t seriously think of a Tundra color I don’t like, some more than others.
When clean, all waxed up, a black vehicle is pretty bad ass.

I just so happened to know a “guy” that does bodywork for a living in N Pueblo West. He usually does classic mustangs or Fords, but doesn’t shy away from work. I’m going to see if he will repair my Lexus. Not because he is any cheaper, I’ve just seen his award winning work.

Would be great. I've seen DuraBak covered rigs here locally and DuraBak is crazy thick when applied compared to Line X and Rhino liner.

You're thinking of this cuz of the hail damage? I bet that hail could still damage panels covered in lineX. You say you checked truck beds and they were damaged. My guess is that even ones without lineX also weren't damaged. I bet ya that the truck bed is thicker metal than say a roof or hood, and it's ribbed for strength as well, so the hail had fewer direct blows on a flat surface with thicker steel. I saw the golf balls and baseballs that hammered your poor truck. I'd be skeptical that the damage would not be similar to certain panels even if lineX'd.
