I know I know people are going to chime in saying "Ive ran LC wheels for generations with no problems", well its one aspect I can eliminate from having problems hence why I prefer HC wheels. Good day, bye bye

    Thank you for that.

It's amazing to me how many people don't care about this and how many wheel manufactures sell lug centric and try to act like its no big deal.

Yeah I don't care. Never had a wheel fall off nor have I ever broken a wheel stud.

Most all the issues i have ever seen have been from improper torque or improper lug nuts

In my opinion, using non-hubcentric wheels is just adding another point of possible failure. Even with centering lug nuts, all the force is placed on the lugs vs the axle bore.. would you rather hold out hold a dumbell with your entire hand or just your pinky?

I think with hubcentric you get the best of both worlds. The Lugnuts and the hub hold it so you get six points of contact instead of five. Although if you’ve torqued the wheels properly and are using the proper Lugnuts on a lugcentric rim, I doubt there would be many issues if installed correctly.

The bottom line is that its an inferior design. If the argument for using an inferior design is that you haven't experienced or heard of any failures, then thats not a good argument.

There are a lot of inferior things that work and don't break when designed for the job. You don't have to have the best of everything for it to work and do the job.
The standard lead acid battery is inferior to AGM but it works.
Grade 5 bolt is good for holding your license plate on and don't need a grade 8 bolt just because its better.

I did when it was new- but still a lot of people that do. Lithium is better why do you use an inferior AGM battery?

Method wheels have our center bore size listed so I just assumed they were hub centric when I bought them. Had I known that they weren't, I might not have bought them. But two and a half years later, with no problems, I'm going to say they're ok. What wheels are hub centric for our trucks other than RW wheels and SCS? RW don't have enough offset and SCS wheels are just too nice to thrash wheeling.

Roost, Con6 and Vex are hub centric, go to methods website and scroll down until you see master parts list and it will list wheels with the hub bore size for tundras 110.5. FN wheels are HC too, it all comes down to personal preference but it’s just information I put out there so people know what right looks like. The new icon rebounds coming out soon are supposed to be HC.

See? That's the thing. Method has them listed as 110.5, but the center bores aren't that size. The center caps kinda act as a hub ring but they're definitely not hubcentric. Atleast my NV's aren't.

That’s good to know. I’m sure they would be fine but personally I like hubcentric because that’s how the factory wheels are.

I had it in my mind that I wanted method NV bronze wheels someday. Methods look the best to me. Like I said I’m sure it would be fine but my OCD wouldn’t let me do it now.

Lots of wheel manufacturers claim to be hub centric but they only are due to sleeves/adaptors/center caps. RW, SCS, and FN wheels, and possibly RRW are hub centric. Look for toyota specialized wheels and you should be ok.

I look at it as analagous to a tire tech using a 7/8 socket to remove 21mm lug nuts. it does the job, but itll slowly f*ck your shit up

Yeah I don’t trust anybody with my shit. It sucks that I have to sometimes. I took my truck to the alignment shop and he was very reputable. But I brought tools and removed my skid plate before I even talked to him and he put it up on the lift.

At the tire shops when I had wheel keys, I had to remind them to use a shallow socket so they would not blow my Lugnuts out. They throw your center caps on the ground and then scuff your wheels with the tire machine.

My buddy doesn’t even bother to take his truck to the tire store anymore, he takes them off at home and brings them to the tire place in another vehicle LOL.

Lithium is not better. There are lots of reasons why AGM is a superior battery over lithium

I put spindle and cam tab gussets on my truck. I don't know anyone who has bent a spindle or cam tab. But I still reinforced them

You sure aren't going to catch me replacing an extremely important part like a wheel with something that isn't as strong. Even if there haven't been any failures

OK sure they are. Why is AGM better? Pick one
    They cost less
can only be dicharged to 50%
    Shorter life span
    Less charge cycles
    Weight more

I just don't think its that important to have HC as I have never seen a single failure due to LC wheels.

I thought the hub centric was not for holding up the weight of the truck so to speak.

I thought it was just for mounting the wheel and making sure it was centered. Hence centering rings that are often just plastic rings.

    Is that not right?
