So the tundra is in and looking good, the old ford is sold so now the upgrades begin.

The upgrade will happen in 3 stages

    1.) Headunit and doors (~$1k)
2.) Inline amp for headunit ($260)
    3.) duel 10in subs under my seats(~$500)

Stage 1 will be a Pioneer 4200Nex, Maestro, and focal integration Iss 690 & Isc 165 speakers
Stage 2 is a pioneer headunit that is very slim dont remember the name right now
Stage 3 is duel PIONEER TS-SW2502S4 powered by a JBL GTR-601

Im a novice so if anyone has any suggestions im open (this is my 4th design, as soon as i find something i think will work someone will tell me its not very good so im just gonna hope this works)

ill post pictures as parts come in and get installed.

Just looked it up, looks like some fancy head unit that offers only luxury features that make it cost way too much. The only reason im doing head unit is because tundra cant make a headunit that actually sounds good.

I mean i like the tech side of it and if i had a unlimited budget i would get it but ive got audio, sliders, a bumper, a winch, and new tires all on a 5k budget

If the phoenix head units worked flawlessly, i'd be all over it even if it cost twice as much. Way too many bugs.

agreed that thing looks like a disaster. i would stick with tried and true aftermarket unit like the Pioneer or kenwood.

do it all in one stage and you wont have to keep pulling stuff apart (if it means a short delay to get the funds set aside).

if you are going to put subs under the seats where do you plan on putting the amp?

I used the metra dash kit, its fit is solid and tight but not perfect alignment at the bottom, bugs me a little.
Scosche makes one in silver, or you could get best fitting black one, and wrap it.

looking to replace factory Radio with a pioneer avix588bhs
I have a 17 sr base model, the factory headunit is weak but the sound quality is not bad the speakers suck; however I did replace the factory hu with a pioneer 5800bhs I had and a rock fosgate amp, component speakers in front and three way in the back are next. I also have a soundquebed hs2.1 8inch underneath the rear driver seat love that little thing. Amps are currently behind the rear driver seat will be relocating to somewhere behind the dash.

    UPDATE:

The pioneer headunit is finally in after a few weeks of one problem after another. First the factory micophone wouldnt hook up so i had to route the supplied microphone, after priblems with audio quality, the backup camera function cut out on me so i had to return the headunit and get a new one in. Everything sounds better now, still needs new speeakers cause i ordered the wrong speakers and had to ship them back to crutchfield.

Subs are halted for now until i sell my old amp and speakers from the ford and the cheap Michelins toyota thought was ok to put on an offroad package are off and need to be sold as well.
