    Hello all,

I searched the forum and didn’t find exactly what I’m looking for so I will post the question here.

Since new, my 2017 4WD double cab has had a rear end noise that I can’t quite identify. I know I have recently gone through some suspension changes and I had hoped that this third would go away… But it didn’t. It’s a solid noise and it sounds like a muffled metal on metal.

Whenever I go over a small to medium sized bump I can hear it from the rear end. I have checked the spare it seems to be pretty solid. I shook my exhaust and there seems to be no metal to metal contact.

The only other thing I thought of was they didn’t tighten down my bed bolts when they reinstalled them after my spray in liner. I’ll obviously check that.

    Ideas?

    John

I have the same truck and the same issue. I also checked all the things you did with the same results. I can reproduce the sound by pulling into my driveway and hitting the bump just right. No idea what it is.

Nice to know. I’ll try and recreate it.

    Thanks

It’s annoying and I think we’ll figure it out eventually.

    Thanks

Good info. I'll have someone sit in the bed while I pull in the driveway and see if that's it.

tighten bed bolts, check the bed frame where the bed sits on.
