So I decided about a month ago to buy a pair of recon headlights from a fairly large online parts website... I received the headlights in good working order but they had a haze/dust behind the lense and finger prints in one. Long story short I asked for replacements and after a month of back and forth with them i received an email saying they would like them field destroyed with pics!? After I send the pics they will send me replacements...anyone else ever have something like this?

Interesting. Guess they don't want to waste the money to ship them back and would rather just send you a new set. They don't want you to sell the bad one to someone else to complain that they have a bad product.

What should I do to them? Sand the lense? Snip the exterior wires? Really don't want to destroy them because I think if you opened them up the finger prints could be cleaned and lense cleaned/ replaced. They could also be a good retrofit base ;)

I'm kind of wondering if they where a defective set to begin with...they usually sell for over $800 on recon site but the site I got them from usually have than at $800 but had them on sale for $700. I also called them about the lights and gave me $35 off the sale price plus free shipping.

Look for a damaged set for sale and destroy the minimum so you have spare parts left over or even make another set.

Your are getting a new set. They want them destroyed so you don't sell them. Run them over and call it good.
