I was reading 'kenomouth64' post on saving a Ram 1500's from blocking traffic with a chain.
    https://www.tundras.com/threads/impressed-coworkers.26769/

got me thinking about what I keep in the back of the truck for those day to day "what ifs". I have the bed cover, so it is relatively safe back there.

    Current Items:
    • ARB air compressor + hose/fittings..
    • Medium toolbox with basic tools
    • Tow hitch
    • Extended Tow Mirrors
    • Tow Strap
    • Golf Clubs
    • Ratcheting tie downs
    • Hatchet
    • Tire rubber snake patch kit
    I need to add:
    • Tow Chain
    • Chainsaw (It's in the garage, but should be in the truck. Because why not?)

But what else am I forgetting? Any recommendations?

The gold clubs are for that emergency meeting on the green right?

First aid kit is a must in my vehicle.

Blanket, first aid kit with tourniquet (used one in the past 5 years), candle kit for warmth, hitch shackle mount.

In the winter I carry a cold weather pack, strap chains, sealed food.

I don’t carry a strap unless going to the mountains. In CO, you can get a fine for attempting to pull a vehicle that has slid off the road.

The standard stuff includes a tow strap, wrenches, a 4 way tire iron, and flashing emergency triangles. Need to add a portable air compressor, a taller jack, first aid kit, fire extinguisher, a jump starter and a full size spare. Would also like an electric torque wrench, but it’s not vital.

During the winter, I always carry a Carhartt jacket and overalls, snow boots, gloves.

Hey, if you’re stuck on the side of the road you might as well work on your drives!

This may be a dumb question but why can’t you help someone out? Probably some obvious reason but can’t figure out why.

All I can say is running this truck is getting super expensive! Just when I think I’ve got it dialed down with my short list of wants, I realize I’m so far from being as prepared as I’d like to be. I've got quite a bit of emergency gear but in reality, it’s fairly pathetic.

LE probably has a contracted tow company and they don’t want a Good Samaritan to steal their business. Also, they don’t want the single vehicle recovery to turn into a multi vehicle recovery/rescue.

This always depends on the terrain for me.
If Im heading out in the Tacoma Im likely gonna be deep in the brush. So basically everything you would need to survive for a few days including a hike.
    -1st aid kit
    -food
    -chainsaw
    -whiskey
    -firestarter
    -warm clothes
-Tums antacids cause when youre eating peanuts and whiskey youre stomachs gonna hate you.
    - tire plug kit
Basically everything youd need for camping.

With the Tundy Ive got the basics:
-1st aid kit Alberta Class #2 (its got a ton of supplies in it)
    -Gerber 3" knife
    -multi tool
    -lighter
-3 flashlights ( spot with strobe, pen and 12chargeable one)
-down gloves and hat ( cause it can get cold in canada)
    - Tums antacids cause when you get in a shitty situation.... your tummy might hurt.

Honestly when it comes to being prepared and you have the space. There is no " too" prepared.
Even if you can help someone else out of a jam it makes it worth it....unless theyre jeep guys..

This is for safety reasons only.

Trying to recover a vehicle with people flying by you is no fun.

Another issue is insurance does not have to pay if you damage another persons vehicle. I have ripped a hitch, bumper and surround off a 3/4 ton Avalanche once with my 05 Dodge. I was chained up on all four, had awesome traction, and a assload of power. I just kept going......

2"CB shackles, bushings and 1 shim, lockerdown console vault, rear folding seat back mod, snugtop shell with opening side windows, 46g fuel tank, SDHQ sliders and hidden winch, Decked Drawers, Alcan leaf springs and got rid of the interior chrome
I’ve tried listing this stuff before and always forgot a bunch....
I’m carrying everything to live for a few weeks as well as the extraction crap.
When these lists get going, the only area I feel short is the first aid stuff. I’ve got a couple ammo boxes of 1st aid stuff but there’s quite a few first responders and combat medics on the forum that really know there stuff. I would be grateful to them if they would list what they carry and where it can be bought.
