Help me get ready for my combo

Haven't had the truck for long and already am modding it. The bug hadn't bit me for at least 10 years and it bit me with this truck.

I am planning to level out the truck with 5100's in front at the highest notch with 5100's in the back also(already sitting around). BTW, does anyone know where to get the rubber bushings I might need that don't come with the 5100's? Roman? Any negatives to the highest notch in front with the exception being the alignment, which I will need for the tires anyways?

After that, I plan to go with Method NV's 18x9 in black. Possibly would be going with KO2's since they have a reputation for being good tires and they would also look aggressive. Hopefully it won't kill the MPG too bad. What specific size tire would you recommend with my future setup to avoid rubbing? I don't have any future plans to upgrade anything suspension-wise with the exception of front and rear sway bars.

What size tires are you planning to run? I think the size you choose will dictate, to a certain extent, what setting you may want to go with.

As far as alignment goes, even if you go with the middle setting, you will need an alignment. I haven't seen anyone having more difficulty with alignment at the highest setting.

When you upsize the tires with 10 ply tires, you will definitely see a drop in MPG. I lost more than 3 mpg. But I don't regret a thing, haha.

 

Honestly, I dont even know what size I can fit in there with my given setup. I dont plan any higher lift from what I will have as I am also short.

 

Some people run 275/70/18 tires with middle setting and like it. These are one inch larger in diameter than stock (will give you 1/2 inch lift). Also the price of the tires in that size seems reasonable.

 

Thanks. What extra parts will I need for the 5100s? My mechanic recommended I also replace to the bushings or whatever is part of the shocks that Bilstein doesn't provide to make it a complete installation.

Also, who provides a good price shipped on Method wheels?

 

I would stick with 275/70/18 for the middle setting or highest on the 5100's. That's what I'm running with my 2" spacer (probably close to the middle setting on 5100's) and I think it's proportioned well. They would still look good if you go with the highest setting and won't completely butcher your MPG. Like the poster above said, going to the 10 ply tire is what's going to cause you some decrease. 275/70/18 are a good compromise between performance, looks, and price with these trucks leveled.

Don't have a great picture since I got the rims with these tires, but you get an idea...The last picture is with the same tire size, but stock wheels. Gives you an idea of the height though when it's sitting flat.
