Very nice. That would be where I would go if I were to have someone build them. True professionals. You gotta pay for it, but you get what you pay for!

Had similar problems, and my passenger side leaked. That’s why I went with 2018 led headlights and be done! And with @iHacker awesome harness!

I repaired mines and sold them here, but I lost about $650, bittersweet but better than losing everything.

I'll probably just sell them real cheap. Could be a great project for someone redo themselves.

Well mine are fine except for the shroud led. Projectors are great and no leaks. So if someone can open them up and replace the leds, they are good as new.

I think, actually I'm sure, @Tundra4us was unhappy with his retros and switched to the 18s too.

How about disconnect the other shroud LED to match?

I can, but also if I remember correctly, the LED strip below the shroud are tied to the same power. So those wouldn't be on either. But yeah.

i ended up buying these and yes he had reason to be unhappy. had i know about the issues i would have gone a different route. i am in the process of redoing them myself now.
retros can be amazing if done right. i had a set on my f150 with all the "cheap China $hit" as it was referred to here that would blow the 2018s out the water as far as performance goes. and they were in that truck for over 5yrs with no issues.
put quality parts in and do the work right and you will have great light output.

That's what I'm hoping as I prepare to do my own. He used a cheap ass LED strip and it looks like crap with a third of them blacked out. I'm sure I can hide the strip wires that are plainly visible thru the lens, if they just had some black expandable loom over them they'd disappear. The light output from the projectors and the cut off are fantastic. This time I'm starting with Platinum headlights so the DRL strip should be reliable....... funny, I don't see the wires to it through the lens.

BTW, I saw those headlights in person and they appeared to be functioning properly,,,,, in fact I was feeling a little jealous that his seemed to be working and mine were obviously not.

Sadly the story here is similar to my overall experience. I hadn't posted because it got to a point that I was no longer sure if I had f'd up the install or if the lights were the issue. Passenger side high beam doesn't work, my LED strips all died off. I gave up trying to solve the issue as did my service shop, they couldn't figure out things and I was done paying.

My next truck is going to be an 18 Platinum which I pick up in about 15 days, so those lights will stay as they are and I'm leaving a set of OEM with my retro so the next buyer can figure it out on their own.

THANKS Warren! I want to make it clear here, I sold these operating 100% with no issues. I did tell John that I had to send them back due to the Panamera shroud not working. The reason for selling was that I wanted something "factory" and not modded because of having these issues. I am sorry to hear that these failed. Leo should stand behind his work and offer something back.

A buddy of mine bought a set of his retros while he was deployed, and I installed them for him. No problems with the lights 3 years later; however, one headlight assembly was damaged during the production, and my buddy had to pay ½ the replacement cost for a new light...which I thought was complete BS

I bought a retrofitted harness (2nd batch he made) from him for my 18 LEDs & 1 of the wires came loose from the terminal. Upon closer inspection I can see the it was crimped unevenly. Brought the issue to his attention on his for sale post & he told me pretty much to stick the wire back in & Recrimp it. I'm somewhat mechanically inclined but that's not the point. If I wanted to start crimping stuff I would've bought proper tools for it, which I don't have, why? Because I'm not a business that sells stuff that needs crimping. plus it was warrantied for a year & he should've replaced it when I mentioned the issue. Anyways I made it work with the help of a member here but it did flickered off once this past winter which no doubt was caused by that loose wire. Just my lil rant to to this hack job

I’m glad I found this post and that I’m not alone in this boat. Bought mine from Leo in 2016 and both tabs on 1 headlight were broken and repaired with plastic weld. I immediately tried to return them but he wouldn’t let me. Said I could use em or sell them. Should have sold them.

The high beam in 1 light didn’t open at all. He instructed me on how to manually open it so I did, but the high beam would never fully open. I basically had 1 3/4 high beams. He said only 1 high beam working is still way better than factory highs......wtf! A few months ago 1 shroud went out and 1 was flickering. Sent both lights to him (1 tab with the plastic weld broke off completely in that process) and he replaced the 1 and said the 2nd wasn’t flickering when he ran it. Got the lights back and about 2 weeks later, the one that flickered went out.

Sent that back to him for repair and when I got it back the relay for the shroud had come loose and is now rattling behind the bowl. He said to just pull the wires tighter to try to not make it rattle as much. Seriously???? That is not the service you give a paying customer who has a problem with your product.

So now I’m trying to figure out what to do. I’d like to get the 2018’s and I mentioned that to him. His response is you will be disappointed in the output.

I’m debating if I should try to dump some plastic epoxy in the one to get the relay to stick and not rattle. Want to laugh?? I looked at the other headlight and it appears that relay is taped down with duct tape!!

My wife about killed me when I bought these, but if I can sell these and get a decent amount to offset the cost of the 18’s I might be able to get away with it!

It's threads and experiences like this that steered me to the 2018 lights and I think they are good for a board like this, it helps keep the market comparative and should promote higher quality products being built. I could have got an LED retro cheaper, and Leo advertises this. He says his are better, brighter, and cheaper. I did my research and needless to say, ended up with 2018 lights which will be here tomorrow and of course an @iHacker harness, again because of my research and learning from other people unfortunate experiences with other vendors.

Two of my cents get LED 2018 and worry free. Not much problems that I had with Leo but had some failures and headaches so I would stay away from retros and get 2018 LED with @iHacker harness.

I got and installed my 18’s last night. Sooo much better and cleaner. Don’t have a mile of wires and power and grounds. Can’t wait to drive it now!

I’ve got those too. Thought that’s what they were. I really like mine! No issues at all.
