Maybe I'm way out of the loop but I noticed Dodge has had a 1/2 ton (1500) turbo diesel truck.

Anyone test drive one of these?

I don't know if this correlates or not, but we test drove the ¾ ton Ram with a diesel and were singularly unimpressed. It just didn't have the punch of my Tundra even though on paper it has much more torque. I can only imagine their "eco" diesel would be similarly unimpressive. They do this weird torque management thing where they hold back the torque until the upper gears. Probably fine for towing but not so-much for the fun-factor

I can speak from experience, they suck ass. Go to some Eco diesel forums, bring a six pack, you're gonna be there a while.

I have a buddy with the EcoDiesel in the grand Cherokee. Awesome fuel economy when it runs. It is rated to tow 7k, overheats with 5k lbs.

Everything is "ECO-something" now, even vacuum cleaners and cat litter. There is probably an ECO version of Ever Clear... "ECO Ever Clear"

Glad there are still non-Eco women out there. Some like a dirty environment.

I am waiting for Toyota to step up to a 3/4 ton and even dully. I mean why not. Stop giving the market to the top 3.

Agreed. Drove a 1 ton Ram Cummins a while back and it'd barely pull a gooseneck with a 1,500 lb UTV on it. Tried putting my foot to the floor to make up for it, didn't help. Kinda funny how the Duramax has nearly 100 ft-lb less torque and pulls astronomically better.

Since we are talking diesels, a coworker just got a diesel Porsche Cayenne. Wonder how that one drives. Haven't been in it yet.
