It's fairly inexpensive to become a licensed realtor, and the money is fantastic. You pretty much get to set your own schedule with the exception of being available when clients are.

My wife is working toward this right now. Currently she's the director of patient services at a hospital...but she works about 60 hours a week and is always stressed..

Whatever you do I hope you find the best option for you.

It is basically managing tasks - kind of like logistics. I am a project manager for a construction company, but there are many fields where it can apply - from software development to catering businesses to engineering etc. Anything that requires planning and then monitoring and overseeing the execution of the plan. I know several ex-military people who do this since you typically learn to do these type of things in the military - planning operations in any size, shape or form. Money is good and you might be able to work from home depending on who you work for.

Actually, if you want to pursue the quoted job at David Weekley Homes, it will be a great stepping stone to project management. David Weekley Homes is one of my clients, and they have project managers overseeing their land development and home building operations. The advertised position is not quite that, but will provide good experience in the field to further your training to become a project manager.

How about look into the natural resources field. Most jobs you don't need a degree just life skills. I was a forest fire equipment operator in NC for a bit and pay was ok and you got to do some cool stuff. I am sure there is something similar in your area.

I’m a PM if you need more info or background or see a job you want to apply to and need help evaluating whether it’s a good fit. Best of luck!
If I was in the military and was looking for a civillian job, I’d be look at the secret service Irving office or fbi field office to see if they have any openings. Also anything with intelligence on usajobs would be in consideration even though they may not be all that fun!

Here is a great resource as well. It is a nonprofit that writes you a resume based on what you’re looking for. You send them EPRs, records, etc., and they build your resume....for free. You’ll be assigned a “counselor” who will call you and ask questions. They are very helpful, friendly, and FREE.
