Hello, I'm in Athens, GA and I own a very small landscape design/build service here. I have had a 2000 Tacoma Prerunner 4cyl for 15 years and it just hit 213,000 miles. Unfortunately with the heavy lifting and towing I'm doing with the tacoma I've really put a hurting on it. I decided to go with an awesome Tundra with 90,000 miles that has been taken care of better than any 8 year old truck I've ever seen. It is a 5.7L 2wd work truck and I think I've made the right decision! What do you guys think about my decision to upgrade my work truck to the Tundra? I regularly haul tons of rock for walls and hardscaping. Can't wait to put this truck to work!

Welcome! Many guys here (myself included) came from a Tacoma. While I do miss my Tacoma for wheeling, I do not miss the lack of room, power, sound, and extra goodies the Tundra has!

I actually bought it from the Toyota Dealership here, I got it the second day after it was traded in and they are doing the Gold Check service on it right now. I'll take pictures as soon as I can, I have a few to try and post. Thanks for the welcomes!

I used my Taco to the fullest and it is just limiting me in the materials that I need to get to work sites and from rock quarries. I wish I could afford to have both trucks but my business and my wife/CFO both know that I'm not at the stage where I need a smaller capacity "run around" truck.....yet. It will definitely be a goal to get a 1st or 2nd generation Tacoma for the irrigation truck in a few years!

I'm already happy with it and I haven't had to run a load of granite with it yet! I knew that I was running the taco into the ground and that is not fair to that awesome truck or some person who could appreciate and use it correctly. Saying that I'm about to put my 2000 4cyl 2.7L Prerunner on the market, it will be sad to see it go but hopefully someone can get the odometer to half a million someday!

I'm sure happy to be on this forum, thanks so much for the warm welcomes and I can't wait to record my experience with the Tundra here.

Shameless plug: if anyone wants to see pics of the tacoma, I'm gonna post it on the tacoma world forum in the next week or so when I get the sweet lady cleaned up and ready to show!

This was my wife's face when I said wouldn't our two black trucks look great parked next to each other for a job? Haha!

Put the 10 ft trailer on today and hauled plants and maintenance gear. It's like nothing is back there, I put the trailer hitch over from the prerunner. I'm new to the Tundra but this looks a little high towards the truck. Still looks awesome in my opinion though!

Are you saying the trailer is sitting a little high?
