NEED HELP WITH WHEEL SELECTION (OFFSET)

Hey Tundra Community!

So I finally pulled the trigger and upgraded my Tacoma to a 2017 Tundra. I am planning to put a Pro Comp 6" lift (stage 1 with front and rear Pro Runner Shocks) and Bushwacker pocket style fender flares which is supposed to add 1.75 inches to the tire coverage. Here's where I need your help and expertise...I am planning on buying Fuel ANZA wheels either 18x9 or 20x9 wrapped in Toyo Open Country R/T 35x12.5 but need help deciding which offset to go with. The Fuel ANZA only comes in +20 or +1. I do NOT want the tire to stick too far out past the fender flare (has to be less than 1/2 of the outer tire tread to pass safety), however, I do not want the stance to look skinny. Anyone got this set up with pics or any suggestions? Thanks for your help...new to Tundras.

 

Welcome from Ca. I think +1 offset is what will provide the look you're after.

 

Got it. Any chance of tire rubbing? Also, planning to do some offroading, should I go with the 18" or 20". I know I'll get more tire with the 18" but was wondering which looks more proportionate? Thanks for the help!!!

 

I think with the 6" lift you'll avoid the rubbing issues but I'm not 100% sure. 18 or 20 ? I prefer the 18. I think it's a little softer ride overall, a little more protection for the wheel off road and tires are a little less expensive. But, I think it's a matter of personal preference. Don't forget to post some pics. Everyone loves truck porn.

 

Yes, if you're going with fender flares ... +1 for sure. +20's look great without flares, but won't extend out enough to get you the look your trying to get.


My +20 Fuel Nutz without fender flares. If I were to add flares, I'd have to add spacers or buy new shoes.
