Ok, first of all. Don't shoot me lol

I love the look and the reliability of Tundra and all the potentials that can be done to it; however, as a Nissan owner, I really love the feature of "surround view" camera, which Pro4X has and Tundra does not.

So I'd like to know your thought process as far as making the decision. Thanks.

Making the decision of a Yota instead of a Nissan? You’re thinking of changing?

I would say that the camera feature is not enough to base the decision on. Sure, I agree, it’s cool.

Titan does not even enter the contest regarding longevity or reliability.

They should be better than they are.

It's a strangely proportioned truck, the front end seems to be taller than the bed. Maybe it's not actually and just looks that way for some reason. I'm not a fan.

The Titan body design engineers are actually from the planet Nanny and they can't see too well at all so they need sensors to help see whats outside before they run into it....

    A bunch
I just had a '18 Pro4X as a rental and I definitely prefer the Tundra TRD Off Road. The super heavy steering is very annoying at slow speeds, and I did not like the steering wheel controls and touch screen. The extra features (surround view, BSM, Hi/Lo heated seats, Auto lights, rear diff lock) are not enough to overcome these shortcomings. It's not like the Tundra is by far and away the better truck, but unless the Titan had a much lower cost of ownership I wouldn't buy it.

The Titan is pricey. Those nannies add up... the Titan's "real" rear diff lock is great. Toyota dropped the ball not offering one as an option at least..

Mat I saw one up close, there Platinum Reserve priced @ a cool 62k. That only gets ya a factory plastic bedliner . I will say the interior was top notch, but that's not a big selling point for me. The body is funky and chunky, damn I want some Ben & Jerry's now:wink:

Blame Renault for Nissan and their crap design and poor quality. Their quality really took a nose dive in '05. I have a 1st gen Xterra. Things a damn tank. The 2nd gen Xterra and ANYTHING with their horrible CVT transmission is complete poop.

I REALLY wanted a Titan years ago when they first came out. I loved the look. Then come the stories on owners forums. Cured that want quick!!!

Yes Nissan is ahead of the game when it comes to tech but I was reading on motor trend a review of this truck and it was underwhelming. Something like he wasn’t able to do yard work because the truck couldn’t handle all the pay load.
Tried to find the story on motor trend but it’s there!

Anyways end of day it’s your choice just make sure Tundra is in great hands! If you do trade it in make sure to remove mods and give them to us for FREE!

    Honestly, it’s up to you.

But if you’re asking my opinion......here goes

    1. If your ONLY selling point is a surround camera.....by all means, go for it.
    2. Tech IS nice...something that the tundras ARE behind in....BUT, I don’t expect tundras to be behind in that sense for long.
    3. Again...tech IS nice, but when you rush tech implementation (ford...GM....etc) you eventually run into more problems than they’re worth...even when you DO take time to run bug fixes, gremlins, etc you still have problems, so rushing is not a good idea.
    4. Out of all trucks, tundras are proven time and time again to be the leader in reliability and in spite of their problems (which every damn mechanical/electrical contraption out there WILL have problems) they still cost less - in the long run - to fix due to durability and top notch engineering.
    4. I know we’re all fanboys and fan girls when it comes to our trucks, but facts are facts. Ford has run into countless problems and recalls with their tech, same with GM. Even though our drive trains are outdated ( since when is that suddenly a bad thing.....I’d still tap Jennifer Aniston and Cindy Crawford) and our MPG is notoriously bad....but in reality, it’s really not much worse than F150’s.
    5. If your only selling point is a surround camera.....by all means, go for it. Your money, your choice.

Like I always say....get what blows your skirt up and deal with the consequences.

Get a stripper wife, you’ll have to deal with other guys looking under the hood.

Get a “non tundra” you’ll have to deal with other guys looking under the hood.

Focus is on the big sellers, eventually they’ll carry over.

Me, I’m in no rush for tech. We drove for years without it, I can live without

When the Titan first came out in 2004, it was a stout, muscular looking truck with loads of power. My dad had a 2004 when they first came out and that thing was a beast. My only complaint was the suspension and axle components seemed puny, but man it was strong.

Now, I think they're a sad excuse for a truck. The body looks way out of proportion, and the interior feels like a Nissan Altima. I hate everything about it. It's awkward and dainty. Don't do it lol.
