on my way to work this morning, i encountered a little road hazard. no damage or anything, but it could have been bad if someone hit it at speed.

Do you have rear camera footage to see if anyone ran into it?

That happened here in my hometown a couple years back. A tire off a commercial trailer came loose and rolled a couple hundred yards before striking a motorist standing beside his disabled car. They never found out whose tire it was. The victim was DOA.

Glad your safe, stray transport tires have killed people. Sweet exhaust note, is that a BAM?

Good thing you have the clearance. And as much as we would like to get out and clear the hazard for motorist behind us, please don't. No need to risk your life for that.

i dont, but i watched the rear view mirror... the guy behind me was in a honda accord and he stopped in time. Then the guy in the #2 lane next to me stopped, got out of his truck, and moved the tire out of the #1 lane.

yeah... an out of control tire is no joke. i am glad that this tire stayed on the ground. it could have been worse if it got air.

Damn. Got lucky there. Good thing you got that camera too. I could see where that would be helpful for the insurance company if something did go bad.

I thought the same thing. Best to leave it even though it can cause a problem the possibility of getting yourself killed trying to be nice guy is too high. The CHP recommends you pull off the freeway to change a flat. Destroy a $200 wheel,,, meh,,, Stay among the living,,, priceless.

Good thing you saw it in time, AND nobody tagged you from behind while you were stopped...

Dang that’s crazy and even crazier that nobody hit you from behind especially since it’s Austin traffic.

    Still rolling stock baby....
I was behind a jeep grand Cherokee pulling a utility trailer once, the trailer came off the ball and flipped flopped all over the road. I got it shut down fast and thankfully so did on coming traffic since it bounced and flipped over into that lane. Driver if the jeep never stopped but gassed it and speed off.

Knew a guy back in the 80s that was killed by a commercial truck tire that came through the windshield.
