Sitting at the stealership waiting for a price to fix my fuel door. The spring broke. Guy just comes out and says we have the parts in stock....That will be $268 parts and labor. Can you say 3m magnet tape!!!! The part is only like $30 bucks online. I told him never mind Just replace my wipers. HOLD THAT!!! just came out they have no Slightline wipers in stock. He said we have stock for & $71 dollars. Get the ###out of here. So came here and accomplished nada. I HATE STEALERSHIPS!! Did come across this in the showroom though. Not sure I would drop $57000 on it though

I feel ya on the resentment toward the dealers, they are something different. I absolutely hate taking my truck to the Toyota dealer only to find out they had some incompetent person turn bolts on my truck and they to find out they messed other things in the process. I can honestly say ive never had a good experience at the dealership in regard to any work they've done on any of my cars. It seems like the tech are instructed to watch youtube videos and that qualifies them to turn wrenches on your $50K truck... go figure.

You know how many gas door springs I put on for free? I work at a dealership. I'm not charging someone on something that takes about 11 seconds to do.

I’ve been contacted by the ‘Internet Sales Manager’ of one Toyoya dealership to be told they don’t do sales through email.

    Exactly what is ‘Internet Sales’?

My local dealer parts folks are pretty good. They had Sight lines on sale last year. Cost me around $25. I think they are now with tax>>>$55. I really like the Sight Lines..
$268 fooking dollars for a spring and labor?? For a fooking gas cap?????

Wow, that is is just baffling.. Im in the process of purchasing a Newer Tundra and im having to deal with that same nonsense. It just sucks the dealers are hiring people who do not know how to conduct proper business and end up having horrible customer service and stuck with shitty reviews on the INTERNET.

If you’re a Costco member or sams club look into that. Only way I’ll buy a new car ever again. Painless.

Yeah bud. You spell everything out that you want for these sales people and they still don’t get it. Its as if you have to do their job for them. Then, the numbers game and the switching back and forth with ‘team members’ not doing their job. Its a game for sure. Just gotta see it for what it is.

A few months back I needed some lugs and a center cap for some TSS wheels we picked up. I got pricing online from active online parts dealer in Dallas. Was looking at several days for shipping. Called local dealer, had parts in stock, pricing was higher about 50%, but we were only talking under $100. When purchasing I mentioned the online prices, she reduced the prices to almost the same; want to say payed about $60 from $90ish. Left very happy. Never hurts to ask or mention.........

I love purchasing through the internet and then going in to close. It takes all of the power and emotions out of the transaction and puts the buyer in the position of strength. Not sure I always get the best deal but at least I know it's pretty good since I know what several dealers are offering before I go in. They are always going to make money but at least the internet has made thing a lot better for the consumer.

Several times I’ve brought in printed copies of pricing I pulled off the web for items I wanted and showed it to the service rep and every time they matched the price. Even if they had to order it, like they did for the drivers side handle.

Those wheels, tires, and lift are worth an easy $30k, so you're getting a steal with only a $15k markup over sticker on that SR5.

The dealer I bought mine at called me up (I didn't answer) and left a voicemail saying they had a "very important message" for me. I figured it was a recall or something, so I called them back. They wanted to let me know they are willing to offer me "top dollar" for my "Toyota vehicle". I asked them what make and model I have and the lady didn't even know!! What a joke... I told them to never call me again...

Buddy of mine just used carvana and had his new truck delivered straight to his door. Next time I buy I am going to try it out. Seems like the only internet sale exp that’s is genuine.

Yeah. Most just want contact info so they can call you to get you to come on down to the dealer.

Agree, bought mine through Costco would do it again. Also make sure to price out different trims etc. because the sales guy told me the Costco thing is all based on what is selling and what is not...showed me the price sheet too. More discount for less popular models at the time.
