Chrome tube step bars that extend over the bed . . . .

Just bought a 4wd 2011 Tundra, double cab, six and a half foot bed. It has some stupid "smittybuilt" black tube steps on it, they're starting to rust on the ends. Good step tube though in terms of ergonomics. Rest of the truck is freaky clean, no rust anywhere, always a southern truck, I'm thinking those step bars were some pretty cheap junk since they are starting to rust even in my very mild middle Tennessee climate.

Anyways, I've been thinking of replacing them with a nice chrome tube step bar. Truck is navy blue, chrome bumpers, chrome emblems, man I love the chrome on this truck and want to bling it out lol.

I know there are certain step tubes that extend to the rear tire/fenderwell. Lets you step up to the front part of the bed near the cab.

I had a 2004 Tacoma, reg cab, 2wd, 5 speed, the stripper truck, dad paid $11,600 for that truck brand new, anyways I inherited it back in 2016. Main thing I miss about that truck is how easy it was to load/unload the bed. I'm 5'6" and man I loved how you could throw stuff over the side of the bed, reach in the bed and pick up something heavy, without scratching the side of the bed.

Anyways, I guess my point is, if I have that side step that lets me up a bit higher on my 2011 Tundra, can I reach down into the bed and pick up something??? I'm thinking not, just because the bed is that much deeper. I've seen little extendable steps on the sides of pickup trucks as well, mounted ahead of the rear tire that serve a similar function.

Doesn't AMP Research make a step for that?

I have something similar perhaps, and I always have to use the side step and tire. I am 6'. But I also have a crewmax, wish my last step was extended further back, and a toolbox that extends me to far to the side so is steep up on the step and then tire to get stuff in the middle of my toolbox.

Yup, it does. Bought directly from nfab. Part numbers correct. Even posted on crewmaxs' with pictures. Oh well. I like the look. And the step does help, just not as much has I had hoped for.
