I'm on the verge of having my factory rims powder coated. And while I have done a forum search, tastes and trends evolve. What was in vogue even last year might be cliche now and vise versa. So.....Black truck...what color rims do you think look good?

It currently has the anthracite rims, but the paint is failing. Now is the time to make them better than new. Powder coat to the rescue!

So what say you? Black? Gloss? Matte? Silver? etc??? Inquiring minds want to know.

I went gloss black and I'm very happy with it. I also really like the look of matte black or different gunmetal shades...

Won’t the 4Runner TRD Pro Matte rims fit? Id vote those. If not, I did mine matte black. Love them. So easy to keep clean too.

I like these too but aren’t they for a Tacoma? Wrong bolt pattern, offset, and load rating?

They actually make these for the tundra as well, here is a link that is directly from the toyota trd site, this link of course if for my 2005, though. Just enter your make model and year and they should have them for you too! https://trdparts4u.toyotaofdallas.c...2&catalogname=TRD Performance&idCategory=2170

Yeah looks like those are 17x7 and don’t fit a 2017. Plus I’d want at least 8 wide. Ideally 9+

True, they may not have these exact ones for the 2017, although they do have 2 or 3 to choose from. But, they only go to an 8 wide.

Thanks for all of the replies...
I'd decided to go matte black. Specifically, prismatic powders Black Jack
    https://www.prismaticpowders.com/shop/powder-coating-colors/USS-1522/black-jack#

I've also settled on new tires (I think). Going with the Kumho Road Venture AT51
    [IMG]
    https://www.tirerack.com/tires/tire...ewall=Blackwall&partnum=665TR7AT51V2&i1_Qty=4

I'll post pics when the wheels are done, but it'll be a few weeks due to logistics combined with the vendors schedule.

Well, the rims are done, new tires on and everything is installed. What do you guys think? I went with Falken Rubitrek's.
The pics make the fit look closer than it is, but there is no rub at full lock, forward or reverse.
I'll be putting black lug nuts on ASAP, and I'm liking the no center cap look, but attention-izing the hubs with a wire wheel and high temp black paint is a MUST.

Those look awesome! What did they cost ? I just got a quote today to do mine for 175 per wheel (satin black) their satin black looks a lot like you matte black ...i guess the centercaps are a DIY project? I saw on this thread that they just painted theirs

The color is Prismatic Powders, Black Jack. $70 per wheel. Done by a private guy that's been doing pc for 30 years. Proper prep and quality powders are important.
$175 per wheel is HIGH. Keep looking. Don't be afraid to consult the List from Craig.

Thanks.....just ordered black Colorlugs today, so looking forward to getting those on.

I've made my mind up....will be going no center cap....sanding and painting the hubs.
