my first mod

well still a rookie but finally got the trd grill with gray surround so de-chroming has begun. got a gray bulge and surround but had chrome insert so i i purchased the trd insert but to my surprise it came with a gloss black surround. after swapping all the components i am now left with an extra chrome bulge, chrome grill surround and chrome insert, and gloss black surround with chrome insert. geez.

also got mgm fender flares but of course now, it looks odd with the stock tires so i have to begin looking for lift, wheels, and tires. did a bunch of research and i really love the tundra stock stance so i really dont want a lift but more a level. talked to some people on this forum and i think bilstein 6112 in front with 1.9" setting is the way to go with the stock in the rear. i also went to my local linex shop and they quoted me $160 for both chrome bumper ends if i removed it and brought them in. that includes the premium coating. in any case, this forum has been a plethora of information. thanks to all.

my wife is sick of hearing me talk about the truck and tundra forum. i have to hide my obsession now but luckily my son loves the truck and that's all he talks about. you can say the tundra has bonded me even more to my 6 year old son ... is that possible? damn what does tundras don't do!!!

thanks aaron. yeah i am trying to keep it at stock clean look except with some nice bigger tires. lol. as for the 2 grills and chrome bulge, it seems they are for sell everywhere. im gonna try to get rid of them for cheap but just looking on craigslist, these are everywhere.

In any case, I love your analogy of naked girls to trucks. I am a huge botanists with a crazy greenhouse and my wife is always on me about acquiring more rare plants. I tell her at least I'm addicted to plants and not gambling or drugs. Lol. Just my crazy rationale.
