Well thanks to a real estate sale, I will be purchasing a 2014-2016 Tundra next month! I have my first child ON the way and I'm looking into a Crewmax. Any suggestions? Btw, wife will be driving this baby as well :/ I'm looking into 2014-2016 Tundra 5.7 crewmax silver or white under 40k miles. Looking to pay around 28k cash. Any suggestions of what y'all paid?

Welcome from CO. Whites the faster color of the two, so stick with white.

What are you looking to do with it?

I paid not much more than that for one brand new with warranties and oil changes for two years. You’ll find for just a little more you may be able to get a 2017 new if you dig deep enough and go up in price....but don’t get in over your head. I’m just saying that they don’t depreciate very quickly and a new one could be a little closer than you might think

The Crewmax Tundra is an excellent baby machine. Add a cheap tonneau cover to the rear and you can take everything, everywhere. I got mine after fighting with the carseat/loading baby in the FJ Cruiser.

I was in the same spot as you with the new vs. used. Buying used Tundras is annoying in that they keep their value. So you save a few thousand, but get a truck with 60k miles and no warranty. At 28k, you might struggle to find something low mileage. I shopped that market for a while and the TRD SR5s in that year/mileage were coming in closer to 34-36k. Ended up going new at around 40k.

Thanks guys! Really makes me feel welcomed

I currently live in traffic central of LA so won't need 4x4 although its better to have than need and just using for a family vehicle for comfort and road trips

    Welcome!

MGM silver if you like to stretch it between washings.

White if you want to eventually put on a 2019 TRD Pro grill (they will only come painted in white, black, voodoo blue).

Welcome, and congrats on the little one on the way! I know it might not matter to some people, but I would totally recommend getting something with memory seats if your wife will be driving it as well (unless you're both the same height). Our "family" SUV/CUV has them and I love just being able to push a button to change the seat position since we both drive it a lot. However, I got the Limited trim in my Tundra and I can't believe there's no memory seats. I try to keep my wife from driving it as much as possible just so she doesn't mess up my seat position (among other reasons). Since you're looking at 3rd gens, though, it'll be tough to find a Platinum (only trim with memory seats, unfortunately) with ~40k miles around your price point.

New to this forum and the Tundra Family but i am in an furious search for a 3rd Gen CM 4x4 in the VA area. I can not even come close to the $28K price point. The dealer in VA are straight out A-Holes and will not even talk to anyone who is trying to negotiate a price on a truck. The range that I've seen these truck for for are between $31K-$37K and that is not including the fake "doc Fees" which run about $600-$900 not to mention the Tax/Tittle/Tag feed the State charges.

Im really interested in seeing if you are able to find a Tundra in that price point, so i can have some kind of idea of what i should spend for my next Truck.

The reason they won't deal on trucks and SUVs is that is all that is selling now apparently. So supply and demand causes the prices to stay high because someone else will come buy it. If gas hits 4-5.00 a gallon again, then those prices will start negotiating again because everyone will start buying the Prius and hybrid cars to save money. (I never understood that mentality).

Anyway, good luck on your search Norfolk, I actually bought my Tundra in VA because I wanted a regular cab and it was the best deal I could find at that moment. I got it from a Ford dealer in Rocky Mount VA, which is south of Roanoke.

I can completely agree in supply and demand, fuel here is an average of $2.75/PG but im expecting it to go up. Happy to hear that you got one from out state, we do have a high demand for truck and its always nice to hear someone got a good deal. Ive been looking on-line and been talking to some online sales reps, but it seems that they do not have any authority to make any kind of deals and just quote generic scrips. I cant even phantom asking for extras as ive read people on this forum have been mentioning (sides steps, grills upgrades, ect...) Im afraid if i ask they will kick me out of the dealership. lol.

Here is a pretty low mile SR5 semi close to you, but you would know the rust situation better than I from that area. This one is in PA.

Yes, I worked on the dealer for about a month to get him to deal. He was asking about 1500.00 over book and I wasn't about to pay over book. After it set on his lot for 45 days, he was more willing to move on his price. Once we agreed on the price, I rented a car one way and drove up there and got the truck and drove it back. It was a 300 mile drive one way from Knoxville, but it wasn't bad at all.

Thank you so much Rick!! Those are good deals.
Im sorry to be asking, (new to Tundras), how would i know if its has the bigger Fuel tank? I don't mind the 26 gallon but would be good to have the 38 Gallon for those long family trips. I though the SR5/TRD off road had that package for the bigger fuel tank, the better shocks, ect...

Sorry to HighJack your Thread OP

I think it comes with SR5 pkg and above on the 3rd Gen but not sure. There is a lot of discussion on the forum though about it so it should be easy to find.

I went to my own bank and got approved for my own finance and dealers are more willing to negotiate because it's sort of of a cash sale. I'm currently at 32k plus ttl and final price will be about 35k.
