    Just sharing a few pics of a nail and a sensor that was destroyed while theIMG_2594.jpg IMG_2599.jpg IMG_2597.jpg IMG_2598.jpg IMG_2595.jpg tire shop removed the tire..

    I initially thought what you thought, but I think he's saying the sensor got damaged from the shop removing the tire.

    Def sucks! Two experiences for ya -

    Just this spring I got a new set of tires. On the drive home - Less than 50 miles in I got a screw in the side wall of one. Couldn’t patch and had to buy a new tire. Such a pisser.

    Years ago when I bought the used Tacoma that preceded my Tundra it came with new tires. 50 miles after purchasing my TPMS was showing error. Here the tech that put on the new tires broke the sensor and TAPED IT INSIDE THE TIRE. The sensor held up until the tape came loose and sensor bounced around. The shop got an earful about training their techs and I never went back there again.

    The young kid walked up to me and apologized for ruining the sensor. I don't know exactly how it happened but the tire shop covered everything at no cost.

    At least they owned up to it. Easy fix.

    My luck is never that good.

    I did have to argue with the last tire store about my truck not having TPMS sensors. We had a friendly bet. I won.
