sub box fitment?

okay. this may be a totally silly question but by the time i got to putting everything back in the truck last night, it was dark and i was tired.

i can't get the rear seats back in with the sub box. i have applied soundskins to the rear wall and then i reattached the factory sound deadner. i pushed the box back as far as it could go. the rear passenger side seat is in but it won't fold down. the driver side of the bench has no hope of getting in.

i was thinking about trimming the factory stuff off at the top of the sub box. did anyone else run into this when dropping a box back there?

 

I think you have to ditch the factory liner.

 

Or depending on the size (single vs double subs) maybe cut out around the box to slide it slightly further back.

 

I cut the factory sound deadener at the top of the sub box. That allows the sub box to be against the back wall.

Tip - before bolting the seats down, check that both sides will fold up without binding on the sub box. If one side binds, you can push the box a little before the seats are fully bolts and secured.

 

cut a hole in the liner yesterday. not sure why i didn't just do that on sunday but thanks for the input. everything fits just fine. now, i need to get out there and connect all the wires...
