    Hey All,

I own a 03 Limited, just installed some LED headlamps and now my fog lights won't work. I understand with the standard halogens the fogs would turn off when the high beams turned on. Now I turn my fogs on and the high beams come on. Ideas on how to fix this while keeping fogs and LED's? I'll also get some pics of my truck as soon as I get these fixed.

    Thanks for the help!

What did the LED kit consist of? Just bulbs or was there additional power and ground you had to connect? If it's the latter make sure you don't have a bad connection somewhere. Otherwise, I'm not sure.

It's basically just the bulbs and they plug into the original headlight plug. The kit said nothing about a ground. Also the only thing they may have recommended was a cancellation relay for newer vehicles that have led turn signals. Pretty much it Thanks though!

I had an 05 tundra access cab and when I installed hids my fogs stopped working. I looked all over the internet on how to fix it. What I found was I needed to do so the fog light mod where I needed to make the fogs and headlights function independently Basically hids draw less power than halogen bulbs and that in turn does not signal the fogs to come on.
Not sure if LEDs draw the same power as hids.

Thanks Agitated I think you're correct. How I go about fixing this I'm still at a lose. Electricity is magic in my mind, at least I'm not the only one to try this stuff. Love this community!

I had the same problem and ordered the load resistor from SuperBrightleds. Problem Solved. Furthermore, as mentioned you only need one unit to have the fog light system operate properly.

I placed mine onto the drivers side LED and the Fogs work independently as they should with the fog switch next to the headlight switch. Fast fix.

Yea I install one resistor on passager side like the other people say on the 1st gen Facebook group and even that didn't work and I even try the diver side and don't work it I have it on then I can't use my high beam no matter what I do so I decide to just return it and I order different led and samething so I got tired and return it so next I might try the hid and see

I have a little info to share on the LED lights issue. I recently bought LED headlight kits and fog light kits for my '02, I had exactly the same problem you experienced and the place I bought them XenonHID was less than helpful. They eventually offered to refund my money minus 20% for restock fee. BS, what I did was install just the LED Fog lights and bought good quality bulbs for the headlights. It works real good, you can use some of after market Blue tinted headlight bulbs to match the color of the LED fogs if you want. But the LED fog lights kick but. I ended up using the LED headlight bulbs on my '70 VW bug that I had H4 conversion headlight assemblies on and WOW what a difference.

    Hello all,
I hate to ask this, but I have looked extensively and I cannot find the answer. I have a 2002 Sequoia limited which I have installed LED headlights, and now the fog lights will not illuminate. I have looked for a way forward to solve this problem, but I cannot find a write up with the correct procedure and wiring identification. I have the tools and wiring to complete the adjustment, but I am missing the knowledge on which wires to splice IOT have the fog lights work independently. I have debated installing an aftermarket switch, but I would prefer to use the factory stall if possible. Please advise.
    Dave.

    Hi Haze134,
you need to buy a resistors for balance the loads in the circuit and can work the relay of the fog lights.

You can find this on ebay for 15.95usd

I hope this solve your problem my friend, i was the same problema few months ago with my powerful tundra 2000

    I have a 2006 Crew Cab.
Just installed lEDS today same problem.
I plan on metering out the switch tomorrow see if I can find out what's going on. But worse case scenario I'm just going to hook them up to a separate toggle switch. Then you will be able to have them on anytime. I will post what I come with

I am having the same problems (fog lights not working and highs staying on when fog light switch is engaged)with my 01 Tundra after swapping to LEDs in my fog and headlights. I’ve read this thread a couple times so my question is to fix this issue do I:

    A. Put in a resistor on the headlights?
    B. Do the Fog light mod?
    Or C: do both?

I’m trying to keep away from slicing and dicing wires as much as possible. Any and all help would be much appreciated.

I have solved my problem with the LED bulbs I installed. When I 1st installed them, my foglights would not work and only the high beam side of the headlights was working. I cured the problem by connecting one of the halogen bulbs in parallel with one of the LED lamps. This adds some resistance to the circuit and everything works perfectly now. I used the two outer pins on the halogen bulb and connected those to the same wires feeding the LED bulb. The center pin of the bulb is ground and is not used in this instance and because of that the halogen bulb is not turning on. You could also use a resistor in place of the bulb.

Great to hear that! I am really glad we now have a simple solution as this was frustrating me for some time. Thank you for the source for the load resistor!

I bought a inline resistor and installed it on low beam head light wires. You just need to meter out witch wires are low beam side. I only had to hook it up to one side and my fog light started work again. If you hook it to the high beam wire they will not work.

I’m having the same issue now. But please correct me if I’m wrong. I can buy the headlight h4 load resistor and connect it between either of my headlights and my fog lights will work properly again?
