dude to say the Chevy, Ram or F150 is a pansy truck is only showing how unfamiliar you are with the market.
if Toyota offered the amenities in line with the rest of the market, we wouldnt have to worry about them breaking, "because toyota". no one can take that away from toyota.

I think most if not all of us would either agree or appreciate that many, myself included, think that driving a brand new GM is nicer than a brand new Tundra. I was so close to pulling the trigger on a 6.2 GMC, but then I was thinking, what truck do I want to OWN? Own being the keyword as it includes way more than how your butt feels in the seat on that test drive. When it comes to owning the Tundra came out so far ahead there hasn't been a second guessing of whether I should have gone for the GM.

One example I have for flashier and newer not being better is my old work trucks - had a 2013 F350 that the company decided was miled out and got me a new 2017 F350. After 20k km's I was begging to get my 2013 back. I couldn't stand being in the cab of the 2017 anymore, I have never felt so cramped as I was in that F350.

So while the Tundra is missing some gadgets and frills, it makes it up with practicality (except for the heated seats button location and useless cup holder) and reliability. And when it comes to owning a vehicle those matter way more than the latest tech.

 

I prefer the older technology. Anyone remember what this is?

 

My Nissan Xterra came from the factory with 4.63:1 gears front and rear. Fuck gas mileage!!!

 

My first vehicle was 57 Dodge truck. It had that same floorboard push button start. Cool!!!

 

I did like the 2016 fully loaded Black GMC Denali 4X4 with 6.2 that I got to take a gander at. Nice!!!!

I turned down all those upgrades because Toyota is the only proven manufacturer for dependability. Your eyes obviously exceed your ass. If you did some research instead of going by just looks you would understand what everyone has been saying on this forum. And yes, By standards, Ram (emblem represents a vagina), GM (Mexican Motors), Ford (ass massager) are pansy trucks.

 

Similar to what someone stated earlier - it is all in the eye of the beholder.

I bought my Tundra for reliability after a great experience with a 4Runner. However, my Tundra hasn't been that reliable. Sure, it hasn't left me stranded, but it has had it's fair share of issues. And, in the past week it has started making yet another noise that I have to hunt down.

But, I still think the Tundra is the best 1/2 ton on the market. I'm basing that on my perception of reliability (even though mine has had issues - I have friends with other brands that have had many more), capability, and looks (I guess that shouldn't matter, but it does to me. I previously thought that the Rams were the best looking truck - until the 2019s came out.....blech).

 

I am on the other hand really like the looks of the new Ram. Did you ever look at the interior of a Limited or Longhorn?

 

I just upgraded from a 2015 Silverado to a 2018 Tundra. Yes IMO it is an upgrade. I have owned 2 chevy trucks and 1 Ford (ford engine blew up...twice). They both make a great truck. So does Ram. I don't think you can go wrong picking any of them if it fits what you use it for. I chose a Tundra because it felt like a truck. The others felt like the dad version of the minivan. All the gadgets and "numbers" but when it came down to "work" they come up short.

Example is the transmissions. I would get bucked around trying to find the right gear that will give me the most mpg. Going up a hill you can forget it. I would also drive it out to some properties to hunt and going over easy trails I felt I was damaging the truck.

The Tundra just feels beefier and built to last. So that is why I bought one. I would sacrifice a 10" touch screen for something I know will last.

 

Yeah, they are pretty nice, but I don't like leather in vehicles - so they don't appeal to me.

Coming from an Xterra myself that must be why the Tundra's mileage doesn't bother me much. A heavier truck with 120 more HP that gets the same mileage in town as the V6 Xterra, sure I'll take it!

 

Only Dodge I'd own would be a 2500/3500 5.9ltr Cummins. 6.7 doesnt impress me. Too many federal regulations/emissions. Just like with the newer Duramax (too quiet for me) and Powerstroke.

 

I try to avoid going anywhere near a RAM dealer........

 

Have you had the chance to see a 2019 Ram right beside a 2018 F150 yet? The resemblance outside of the large RAM on the front is a little too alike. They're both going huge after the fuel mileage, and while I don't mind helping with fuel mileage, trying to make a truck 'aerodynamic' is a little too much. So while the new GM offerings in 2019 may not be the nicest looking at first glance, at least they still look like a truck with big, bold flat front end.

 

That sits about .0000001" off the ground.

When I was looking for a new truck, I shopped Ford, Chevy, Toyota and Dodge. Chevy was the most expensive of the bunch for somewhat close ty pro that I got the Chevy was 55k. Saw the sticker price and walked away. I was already driving away by the time the sales guy got out the door.

 

Chevy USED to be a good truck. Back in the 70's and 80's. Rock solid. They changed man. "Government Motors".

 

As a former GM employee (I worked for them when I bought my Tundra) I can tell you nothing beats the back seat room of a Tundra. Everybody at work was hating on the Tundra until I opened up the back door of the crewmax and showed them the space. I said go find me a Chevy on the lot with that kind of back seat room (Does not exist). Tundra for the win!
