Orbital Buffer

anybody have any experience with the Ryobi Orbital Buffer?
Is this a good choice to start and learn with?
2500 RPM, good or bad?
Can you apply wax with this?
Can you polish with it?

I already have it and plenty of 18 batteries. If it’s not good I can return it.
Cost $40.

 

Never used that kind before. I started with a porter cable 7424 dual action. Dual action ensures you won't burn paint or induce swirls, if you apply to much pressure it will stop spinning, I also used 5.5 or 6.5 inch pads. I recentlly moved up to a Griots Garage Boss long throw 21" DA polisher, much better correcting ability and won't vibrate your arms off.

I recommend going to Autogeek website and watch some videos. Thats how I learned. Just did a 2 stage paint correction on a classic Mustang that turned out good for my first time on single stage paint. You can see hood and roof at first correction on right and un touched on left, last picture is finished product.
