Ok, I guess I'll be the one asking the stupid question. Besides the obvious shenanigans and fun you all are having, what's the real practical advantage of having it?

I can see the practicality of a huge passthrough if you have a cap/shell or a slide in camper, so what else am I missing here?

Granted, if I had small children I would have given up the extra bed space and gone with the CM for the extra rear seat space but not really for the window. Really, the only time I open the little "Chiclet" sized slider in my DC is to vent some hot air out of the cab when I leave work.

    Enlighten me.

    I do it also.
I can carry 16 foot boards from the dashboard out the window and on top of the bed with no red signal flag required(3 feet rule).
In 115 plus heat it's the fastest way to remove the 170 degree stagnet air inside.
When others pass gas, roll down front windows also and out it goes out super fast. I then roll up all windows and disable locks when I pass gas.
That's just the facts of life.

I have used it to haul longer stuff and just rolled the window down and stuffed it in there with no worries. Also it's nice to get air flowing that is not directly in your ear, so I crack it a few inches and can get air circulating and still hear my tunes or another passanger. Nothing special but comes in handy. Also I don't have to stop to open it or remember to open it before I take off.

    In my opinion....

    My kids absolutely love it.

It also gives more airflow in comparison to the typical small slider.

Kinda like a sunroof, sort of useful, sort of cool, looks nice too.

You’all are a bad influence. Up until 2 days ago, I had to look at the manual to see where the button is for the rear window, now I did it 4 times today in front of various Fords and Rams. LOL

I probably don't find it any more practical than the small window found on most trucks. Primary use....maybe passing some baseboard or something through that I don't want hanging out the back.

I would say the automatic control is very nice to let some air in without climbing in the back, and opening all of the windows and the rear slider when driving down a beach road is pretty nice.

Mostly I use it so they can picture me rollin' :cookiemonster:

I use it daily. The amount of air circulation I get with the rear window even partially open vs. it being closed is considerably noticeable.
I don’t open it all the way because I don’t like people seeing inside the cab idk why maybe because I may get shy.
But besides the elephant sized back seat space the rear window is my next favorite thing about my CM.

+1, because on the other forums that I belong to the only bad thing they can come up with about Tundras is the MPGs. I would rather spend a little extra on gas than pay for repairs along with the inconvenience.

Glad to know I am not the only child over 40 that does this. As far as purpose, if it weren't for this feature I never would have bought the truck. I am coming from a jeep where I could strip it down and be in the open air. While this isn't the same being able to roll down all 4 windows and the back window is a nice substitute
