So to make sure I fully understand, this harness will allow me to install 2018 factory LED headlights with no cutting or modifying of anything and these new lights will fully operate exactly as the factory designed them as if they were factory installed?

I'm asking because I think some of the other "kits" I've seen said something about the DRL's staying on all the time on some models (I could have that wrong but it was something along those lines)?

    I have a 2015 SR5 that I would like to upgrade.

    Thank you

Dealer is installing with no dim lights like factory for safety? Doesnt sound like a smart thing to do for the dealership

The SR, SR5, Limited, Pro kit doesnt have the dim feature. Only 1794/Platinum. But if you have the dealer install your headlights, they will add the dim feature. Which is why they will honor warranty. Before your order check with your dealer.

When the headlights are off, the DRL led is on brighter. When you turn the headlights on, the DRL led dims, "dim feature."

Ah, OK. That might have been what I referring to earlier about the DRL's being on all the time.

Any idea how the dealership is "enabling" this dimming feature? Curious if this is something a DIY'er can do (or if I installed the light myself, just have the dealership enable the dimming feature)? Between the lights themselves and the conversion harness, this project is already bordering on costing more then its worth (to me). Having to pay a dealership to install them would kill it for me.

Anybody have night pics on the 2018 lights on w/the DRL's on full as opposed to dimmed? Curious if this is a big enough difference to even care about?

The dim feature is enabled by using a relay under the dash. A DIY'er can do it themselves but there won't be any factory warranty.

Cost is always a concern but from what I've read the difference between the led headlights and the incandescent is a drastic improvement.

As stated above, simply by added a relay. Its a little wiring required but its simple if your good with wiring. Heres a comparison of the LEDs bright and DIM. Only reason I do not off the dim feature is because its not Plug N Play.

Every dealer is different. You would need to contact your local dealer for install prices and warranty info.

but dont you have the following in big red letters in the original post? i am deciding on harnesses and warranty will factor into this decision. I am just trying to find the following in print to ensure i will be covered as you mentioned below.

"Toyota dealerships will honor your factory warranty with this kit if you have the dealer install the headlights using this kit."

Yes and it also says please contact your local dealer. If your going to have your dealer install the headlights, be sure to contact them first.

so probably say "...MAY honor your factory warranty..." then, eh? the statement "will" makes it sound like it is firm in writing. see what im saying? glad i checked more into it.

I think your misunderstanding me. They will honor your warranty, but you need to contact them on info about installing the headlights.

oh, gotcha. do you have a written statement from toyota that they will honor any warranty claim? I would like to see that before i purchased. i have to admit, sounds strange toyota would cover a warranty of an aftermarket part.

Toyota isn't offering warranty for the harness, they are warranting the oem 2018 headlights if they stop working. If the harness stops working, you will get a direct replacement from me as the harnesses are warrantied for 3 years.

Because the headlights weren't meant to be backwards compatible with 14-17 models, if your dealership installs the headlights using my harness they will warranty the headlights, but not the harness. Hope that makes sense.

If you install the headlights yourself and one headlight malfunctions, you won't have any warranty and have to buy a replacement headlight

The reason the dealerships are offering warranty, is because 30 dealers across the country and 3 in Canada has installed the new headlights using my kit for their customers with success.

Sorry I’m an idiot. I’m actually going to install the first version this coming weekend, what is the difference between that one and this one? Is the install the same minus the repinning?
