I have created a thread for the club review of the Tornado Intake device. The company was generous enough to send me a unit free of charge to test for our group. I will post my experience with the device to include MPG, assembly, overall durability, noise ect. Anything you guys want to know about the product from a consumer point of view please ask me. I have no affiliation with the company but I do like my tundra. I have received the product and will install it after I get a hand calculated MPG of my truck from 2 full tanks of gas. I have a 38 gallon tank so be patient :)

Please keep any opinionated product bashing out of this thread. If you have experience with the product please feel free to contribute. I will give an unbiased test of the device for you guys to get the best info about this product. You can decide after the results are in if you would like to purchase it or not.

I will send this link to the company so they can monitor the progress and receive some insight from consumers. Please be respectful and join in on the conversation.

That was very nice of them to send you a test unit @Tracker. Looking forward to the test results. Are you going to wait to test on summer fuel or now?

Do they say if this is for vehicles with or without an after-market intake?

They make them for both as the size category goes by diameter of where it will be mounted.

I ran one in my 2004 3.4 Tacoma. Will they take it back?
Didn't see much difference other than alittle lighter wallet.

Tracked gal filled after reset of trip meter and didn't notice difference.
With the mpg monitor in your truck I am curious to see what your results are.

So I'm confused, my electronic fuel mileage over the last tank went from 12.6 to 12.8 but my hand math showed the tank at 12.2. I'm gonna do another tank before I install.

So I am still working the numbers. My last 2 tanks were 13.1 and 13.39. Not sure if I need to go another round or if its time to put the tornado in. Thoughts?

I'd say your close enough to 12.5-13 mpg. Throw it in already! Lol.

Are you driving about the same route? Make sure that you put your gas at about the same time of the day from the same gas station, etc. You want to eliminate as many other factors that could affect the outcome.

I'm very curious too. I've heard of the Tornado but never gave it much thought. Anything low cost that can even save you a few 1/10's adds up to savings over time. Hand calc MPGs is the way to go in the short term. Our fuel indicators are taking a constant average. As time goes the indicator is showing averaged samples over a long time, which to me is somewhat meaningless for what you are truly currently averaging. Those "over all" averaged samples will be biased over time and not near as accurate as hand calculating over a short window, as in 2 or 3 tanks, which will be a unbiased sample. I hope the Tornado works. Good luck.

Well I went to install the Tornado and it is too small. I have contacted them by email to let them work on it.

Its a minor hiccup. They are going to correct it and lets not forget they are doing this for free.

So the new Tornado arrived today. Already installed and I will begin to report on the next gas fill. Unfortunately we have the major winter storm so some 4wheel drive could taint the mileage but I will post every top off so we can get consistency.

    Metric shit ton of parts
    Subbed for outcome.
My crystal ball says is it will make a cool whistle sound. And the sound is so entertaining, you'll be hitting more skinny pedal and result with less MPGs. :D

Kind of like aftermarket CAI sounds.
