    Too many…scratch that…not done yet.
No confusion. I just didn't know there was a difference. Good luck with them!

How did powder coating yours go? I am thinking of going this route.

I had to delay it due to waiting on my lift. I expect it’ll all get done in a few weeks.

I will post feedback/results when it gets done.

Thanks. Are you thinking of color matching or doing black to blend in with the center of the bumper?

I'm trying to get it color matched to the body color (MGM) if able. If not, then it will be black.

Hi guys. I am planning on swapping out my chrome front bumper end caps to the body color versions. I have parking sensors and it appears Toyota states the sensors for the caps with chrome are different than those used on the body colored ones? Do I need to order replacement sensors or will my current ones in my chrome caps work? Thanks.

You just need to order the ones that allow for the sensors. I just did this a couple weeks ago.

Just double checked my Sparks order and i got the end caps with sensor holes....no mention of sensors so on mine, they just reused my existing ones. No issues to report.

No I ordered the caps with the sensor holes in them but it looks like the sensors themselves are different on the Toyota website.

It looks like part 89341-0C021 is the sensor for the painted caps and part
89341-0R060 is the sensor for the chrome caps.

Do my current sensors just snap into my new painted end caps? Thanks for all the help!

Does anyone know if the color-matched caps that come on the platinum's are metal or plastic?

I'm wanting to get rid of my chrome, but I don't want to go with plastic (fog light rattle, etc...)

Plastic. I have no rattle but they can move a bit. Haven’t noticed any negative impact to the swap out but they do look a lot better.

If I were doing this over again I would go vinyl route to save a few $$$.

Plus once the bugs eat it up you just peel and stick like new again instead of 400$ repaint

Anyone know of any shops in Massachusetts that does the vinyl wrap. I have a spare set of chrome ends that I want to color match.

I have my rear caps wrapped since 1 month after getting the truck in August 2015. Zero issue. I do have one scratch from a rock chip but thats it.
I have had my roof wrapped for about 2 yrs, again zero issues.
My front grill wrapped for about 1 yr and zero issues.
I strongly feel it is all about the quality of the vinyl (3m or Avery) and the installer.

Wow, thanks for this. Doesn't the vinyl hold up better than the paint as far as rock chips are concerned?

Its about the same. But on the toyota tundra paint the vinyl is better as the tundra paint is very thin and scratches easily.

Has anyone found a good match for Barcelona Red? I might give wrapping a try if I could find a good match.

I wish a vinyl match for blazing blue pearl was more readily available. It seems my color is not the best choice when your looking for color matched parts, either more expensive or not even available.

I finally took the plunge and ordered black end caps from oempartworld.com today. I ordered from them because shipping was cheap to my house in the Pacific Northwest. My friend has a home shop and I'm going to attempt to paint the bumpers there. For the black end caps, liner extension seals, color matched hood bulge, tax and shipping came to $499.
