Wax Powdercoat?

So I have powdercoated front and rear bumpers. Can they be waxed? What else can I put on them to slow the oxidation?

 

No....you don't want to wax powdercoat

 

Really? I wax my rims and I’m pretty sure the factory wheels are powder coated. Maybe not, but I know they have a clear coat, maybe that’s the difference.

 

I asked the PC shop aftet they didbmy wheels and they just recommended cleaning them with microfiber.

 

Yes...if they are clearcoated its ok to wax them

 

Bumpers are not clear coated so....anyone have any ideas as to how I can protect them from sun and bugs?

 

Not powder coat, but an equally difficult product to keep clean and looking nice, Line-X. I have the bottom of my truck and my fender flares Line-x'd. I spray it with simple green, scrub it with a soft bristle wheel brush, and then hose off. I let it dry on it's own in the sun, I've tried to dry it with a microfiber towel before and I'm always left with little fuzzies everywhere.

When it's completely dry I hit it with 2 light coats of tire shine, whatever I might have in the garage after I wash the truck. I cut a piece of cardboard to follow along as I spray to keep overspray off the paint. This will stay looking good for about 2 months. The initial gloss will be gone in about 2-3 days, but it still looks deep black for almost 2 months.

I know from items that I do have powdercoated without a gloss finish, is that they have a texture to them. That is why I immediately thought of how I keep my Line-x clean.

 

What about the F-11 Topcoat stuff? Anyone tried this on Powdercoat?
