The day I got home from an elk hunt in Hayden,Colorado back in 2014. Averaged around 7.5 mpg. The 2011 tundra. Never thought I would get sick of listening to the K&N intake before this trip. The 26 gal tank was a pain also. No worries about breakdowns though.

Just curious what size trailer you were pulling and if it was loaded up heavy?

It's 8.5 by 24 and only had about 2000 lbs in it. We were going to use it as our kitchen/dining room to keep from trashing my uncle's motorhome but the weather didn't cooperate. We ran pretty hard but tough to get any mileage taching over 3000 rpm. I should have swapped out with his 16 ft landscape trailer when me met up in Missouri. His diesel pusher got better mileage.

Gotcha. That is a pretty big trailer though. You probably had to stop often for gas, what a pain. I believe the newer Tundras have the bigger tank.

My 15 still has the 26 gal tank. I ordered the truck before the dealership even had a brochure.Went off info in Motor Trend magazine that said all 15's had 38 gal tank, tow mirrors, and trailer brake controller if you ordered the tow package. They were wrong on all 3. Took brake controller and mirrors off old truck. I ended up adding fuel 3 or 4 times from gas cans on the side of the road. High stress to say the least. Some tanks 5-6 mpg in Kansas. 30 mph headwind.

@Bashman68 that's crazy. If you tow like that often, I believe there is a larger transfer flow tank that is made for our trucks

Well. All the recalls that started happening with the front end. Then the fuel heater.I was afraid that the value would drop hard so I went ahead and sold it.I am truck crazy I guess.Ive had 3 Rams one 2500 one single wheel 3500 then I thought I needed a Dually.Plus I had a 2009 Tundra all since 2006.There is nothing like the towing of the Dually but when your not towing the Tundra is so much better for what I am doing. If FIAT gets the recalls figured out I will probally end up with another one someday but for now the Tundra is doing just fine. The Tundra actually didn't do to bad at all pulling the toyhauler.I like the big tank.Trying to decide if I even want the tow mirrors I am not towing as much as I once did.

I actually thought about getting a newer Cummins before I bought my Tundra. :anonymous: Just couldn't get over buying a Chrysler product. Wish Toyota would pair up with Cummins and put one in a Tundra. Or make a heavy duty and put some other bad ass diesel in it.

The Dually was a big truck. To big for me if I wasn't towing. But a very nice truck. One thing Ive noticed about the Tundra is the interior doesnt seem to be as nice as my Ram was. Carpet isn't as nice and Its not as quiet as the Ram, even with the Cummins once you closed the door and rolled up the window I didn't hear nothing outside the Cabin. And it had way more lights inside and storage. The carpet in my Tundra looks cheap if that makes since? But I am happy not complaining just pointing out some things.

Shit, your in great area for cars. I was in Germany in 2013 for a couple weeks. I was in heaven.

Corvette is gone. It was alright. I would rather have an 07 RS4 or 2010 newer S4. I was going to sell the Tundra or Vette. The Tundra remains.
