I recently bought an 06 SR5 and have some questions about it, hoping this is the right place to ask them. Very simple and if i had time to screen the owners book more I would find them probably. First I have a tire low light that will not go out it just keeps blinking and all the tires are aired up good. I'm thinking a bad sensor but not sure which one. Anyway to narrow this down?

second the fog lights don't work or I can't find the switch for them?

Lastly this thing came with a Thermal clock up overhead near the map lights, I have been pushing buttons trying to figure this thing out but no luck does anyone have any idea what it is and how to trace it back to switching it on?

    Zack,
As for finding the dead TPS most any tire dealer can check that, they have a wand or similar tool and it lets them know which one(s) are bad.

I don't have any suggestions for the other two issues.

Alright thanks for input really helpful. I got the Fog lights working now but only when the head lights are on. Aside from that everything else seems to be working very good I need to get new tires for it do you guys recommend changing all at once or can I do 2 at a time?

No issue doing them 2 at a time, of course assuming you're talking about 2 rear or 2 front (not 2 left or 2 right).

    Since you're 4wd, it's recommended to do all 4; not just 2.

Believe the fogs only work with the headlights and that there is a mod you can do called "anytime foglight mod" if you want to change that.

Hey Scarecrow, my 2000 Toyota tundra does the same thing, fog lights will not come on until your headlights do.

Have you tried checking to see if the spare tire is low? had the same issue with a 4runner I had, filled all 4 tires and the light was still on. then I filled the spare and it turned off.

Agree, recommend changing all 4. If you don't you will see that the two new ones will wear faster

2003 SR5 2WD. Trouble starting. Roll the key over to start, makes one loud clunk/click (like the starter teeth are catching on the flywheel, but not spinning it) and then nothing. Does this all the time, starts OCCASIONALLY in the morning (when the starter(?) is cold). Lifted the manifold and dug out the old starter and replaced with new, dropped a new battery in, and replaced the alternator 2 months back. Still not starting. Checked the relay, pretty sure it's good. Thinking possibly the ignition switch?? Please, anything helps. Really tired of driving this POS Diesel F250 around.....

I had a similar issue with a chevy truck and it was the fuel pump going out. The ignition would not activate until the fuel pressure was high enough and the above steps primed the fuel pressure to an acceptable level.

Troubleshooting tip: Try turning key to on then off position a few times (at least three) then trying to start.

Might help, might not, worth a shot...

Thanks for the advice. After I replaced the starter and the battery, while checking all cables, connections, hoses, etc. during the starter replacement, everything was good, including the old starter......... still wouldn't start.

Walked out the next morning, said why not, tried her out and she started. Noticed a check engine light (wasn't there before). Drove it to O'Reilly's and had them check the code.....s. It threw 12 different ones.

The only one that stuck out was the CKP (Crankshaft Position Sensor). $116 later, started up no issue and is continuing to do so.

Worthy of Note: Starts faster, smoother; sounds better while spinning. I guess 195k miles on all original parts warrants replacement lol. Thanks for the help!

Fog lights only work with the headlights on in low beam.

ok got the light issue fixed and the TPMS switch fixed for awhile. I recently had the light come back on and checked all 5 tires and the PSI is good. I hit the reset switch and drove the truck. Still have a light that won't go out. I took it back and the place that replaced the sensors says it might be the computer not communicating with the sensors. Has anyone ever heard of this?

yep bank account is running low from it..
Did they replace the sensors with Toyota or aftermarket? Some aftermarket tpms sensors are JUNK.. I really doubt the computer is going bad I think they gave you tmps sensors don't play nice with the Toyota brain honestly.

Im more than tempted to agree with you on this as it took them several hours to do the swap.
