Anyone ever done powder coating? I don't know much about it. I'm assuming it's more durable than paint. I like the way powder coated stuff looks. Are the equipment expensive? Does it make sense economically for a DIY to own?

I think it depends on what you powder coat. Prepping material, like sand blaster, bead blasters etc can cost. Baking the item you are coating will also be a factor as far as size and how you plan to hang em up. Most important is ventilation, respiratory, and your safety essentials.

Check Eastwood, they have some great powder coating equipment at a good price. Definitely worth it.

That sounds complicated and probably a big investment. Thanks for the information.

I just had a bad experience with Eastwood. I placed an order online. 4 days gone by and I didnt hear anything. Logged on to check the status. It said "on hold" emailed them and I got the email below.

I told them the info they are asking for would be the same as what I provided on the order. The billing and ship-to addresses are identical. They emailed me back asking for alternate email address and phone number. I told them to just cancel the order.

I’m sure you can make it happen!
Harbor freight sells some blasters and small parts cleaner boxes.
