Wondering if anyone that has replace or "fixed" their JBL system has kept their front speakers and connected them to a second 4-channel amp? I'm putting in a Fix86, Alpine 5-channel amp with new 10" Alpine subs and 6.5" JL door speaker. All set to do it just waiting for the weather to break in Central NY, might snow again. I was just going to unhook them for now but it would be easy to set them up if I can find decent speakers small enough to replace them. Might be overkill but that's how I think. Anyone?

Hey. So just amping and processing the JBL speakers actually makes a nice difference. I have heard a tundra that did this and it was a great result. What door is the JL speaker going in? If front door, i would either replace all or none.

I'm replacing all the door speakers and two new 10" subs. Going to disconnect the dash speakers. I was wondering if anyone tried to use and replace the dash speakers.

Ok no new door woofer and tweeter? I replaced all of mine (went 3-way). Leave the center plugged in for stage presence, but your call on the mids (I replaced and amped mine)

I put JL Audio ZR-650's in the front doors and C5-650's in the back w/ two Alpine 10" subs. Came out pretty good. No need for the dash speakers.
