For me, I wanted something with more power, a grueling V8 sound, and more room.
My Tacoma was great, but didnt have that strong V8 power or sound to couple it.

Tacoma access cab didn't have enough room for a growing family. Two car seats wont fit in the back. Not comfortable with a car seat in the front and back for safety.
Toyota is the only way to go and I still wanted a truck so my only choice was a Tundra.

Wanted something with more space than I had in the Taco. Looked hard at the F150 (actually wanted one a bit more) but dealers around here didn't want to deal much. Looking at all the trucks I couldn't find a comparably equipped truck from anyone else for what I paid OTD.

Toyota bought my 2012 tacoma back thru my states lemon law because of the take off shudder/vibration. So I went and test drove other brands like the Nissan Titan pro4x for example. That thing was soooo cheap feeling. Everything felt flimsy and the truck just felt like it was slapped together. That was the last one of the non Toyotas that I tested. I decided I would just try a tundra. Just a little test drive to see what they were like. Getting in and driving one made me realize there was no comparison. The only other truck I would consider is an f 250 diesel. But I don't think there is any other better gas powered truck. The general manager was told of what I went thru with my tacoma and they not only gave me a great deal, but he let me have the truck he ordered for a family member. First time I've ever heard a finance manager say, 'well... got a good deal I see. You won't need gap insurance'. Ha. I love this truck and it would take a diesel tundra with an elocker for me to even consider trading or selling it. Best damn truck EVER!

I bought my Tundra because I was looking for a good reliable vehicle, also wanted a truck for my fire gear so I wouldn't smoke up my cab.
My dad bought a 93 Toyota pick-up new and it runs great to this day. My brother bought a used 03 Tacoma and it also runs great and is very reliable.
I knew I wanted a Toyota but didn't know what model, then I found my Tundra, figured I'd keep it in the family and keep the tradition going. I love my Tundra, it runs great and hasn't needed any major work yet. God willing I won't need any.

I had a 94 Toyota pick-up that a bought from my father-in-law... kinda wish I kept that truck. Then I traded it for a new 2011 4 cylinder access cab Tacoma (5 lug not the prerunner). I liked the Tacoma but regretted not getting 4x4 and the access cab was just too small. Then I was looking at used Tacoma double cab with 4x4 and 6' bed. The cheapest used Taco in that configuration was $30000. So I was at the lot and stumbled on the 2012 Tundra 5.7L 4x4 double cab with only 15k miles. The dealers were way more open to negotiate on the Tundras over Tacomas. I love the interior and bed size of the Tundra, but miss the overall size and handling of the Tacoma.

I loved my 2003 Tacoma Double Cab, but I always found that I ran out of room. I guess I take too much stuff with me when I go hunting. Also, it always seemed that my kids were crammed in the back seat on long trips, so I decided that it was time to upgrade.

yeah, i liked it was smaller and a lot more things out there for it. it did the job, and was good for hunting, but the MPG is the same as the tundra for the most part but I didn't get to drive my tundra but a few times before i left. I do get to drive hilux's all day now though. they should really sell them in the US. i'd be half way temped to trade the tundra for one :anonymous:

My Tacoma just was not big enough for my growing family. Needed the space and the reliability of Toyota. Tundra it was!

I bought this on 1/12/14 and have added a code alarm remote start, an Alpine head unit with Nav and a backup camera.
I traded my 08 Tacoma for the Tundra because of towing capacity.

I had an XRunner before.. was great fun to race around in but once I started going out on trail runs I wanted to drive a truck myself, no more being passenger. So I ended up trading in the XR and getting my Tundra. Stoked to say I've been able to take out the truck in some pretty fun trail area, and even more excited for this summer to go out.

I needed a truck that could do something that a 2009 F250 with 66k miles on it could not. Start every morning so I can go to work. Start on the weekend when my family and I are out and about. Start and be able to pull our 8K pound boat to and from the water. Start when its 90 degrees. Start when it is -20 degrees. It is a world of difference between the two truck. I absolutely love my Tundra because it works.

When toyota first came out with the Tundra in 2000 I immediatly fell in love with it, it was my dream truck as a 13 year old boy. 5 years later after working hard and saving up I was able to buy my dream truck. Plus my family (immediate and extended) has some 22 Toyota vehicles and all have treated us well. My dad was the first to buy one, he had an 1989 4x4 pickup and the other men in the family soon followed after seeing it perform in a Pennsylvainia blizzard.

Graduated college and needed a reliable truck since i was moving away from home. Toyota Finance was willing to do some amazing shit for a recent graduate. The Big 3 wouldn't touch the rebates and financing that toyota was doing. Ended up getting a brand new bad ass Tundra. Never looked back.

Just to piss off my old man. You could feel the tension in the air when i said i was getting a Tundra...he just shook his head turned away and muttered something under his breath. Kid you not...im not good enough because i drive Toyota. He is too hard headed to even really talk to about anything.
