I installed LED strip lights in my Tundra Crewmax and just thought I would share how I did it.

Pretty simple install. MICTUNIG 60 Inch LED kit from Amazon $ 25.99 and comes with a switch and fused.

    https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01JUE9OLM/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o06_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

The only splicing I did was this:

Passengers side light needed about 3 feet of wire and the drivers side was about 3 feet long too long. Comes with connections already so I just took a 3 ft section from one, spliced and rewired. Drivers side is about 3 feet long and the passengers is about 9 ft cable now. Keep both connectors attached to each strip.

Ran the wires up the rear walls near the taillights and their is a small gap to drop the wires and they come out the bottom of the bed. Ran a power from my already power wire for my rock lights install. The passenger wire ran thru the rear channel and I didnt even have to drop the spare tire.

3M tape the switch to the drivers side hole and ran wire for switch out that hole and connected them at the bottom of the bed. I don't have a picture yet of what they look like on at night. Ill get that tonight.

Alcohol wiped the tracks and the LED lights glued 3M taps perfectly underneath the rails. Its very hidden and slick. Only had about 1 inch at the very end of the bed and just rolled that in a loop and tucked it in the end of the rail.

Very easy and very clean looking.

I had battery powered lights but wanted powered and wired lights.

I've had these on my truck for about a year now and they're still working great. Nice job.

I had similar lights on Tacoma and they looked great but only worked for a year. They were supposed to be waterproof but apparently not. Used part of strip for floor board lighting and was still working when I sold truck. I ended up going with some 8" submersible marine lights in the bed.

I'd like to see your lights, in case mine fail.

I checked phone and laptop. Looks like I deleted most of my Tundra pics. They were some 8" surface mount marine LEDs from Shoreline Marine that I picked up on Amazon. A lot of people on the Tacoma forum use the 5050 LED strips and have no problems. Lots of people own Gen2 Tacomas that have no factory bed lights. I had to use 3M double sided tape to get mine to sick to the rails. After they quit working I just said screw it got the submersibles. Being a boat owner for 35 years I know that sometimes it pays to buy marine rated stuff.
