I would like to do a body lift . What's your take on a body lift vs a suspension lift???

Stay away from body lifts if possible. Sean pretty much summed it up.

Not a fan of body lifts at all. Do it right and get a quality suspension lift.

If you want to do it for looks... Go for it. For practicality/good handling/ and possible safety issues.... forget it.

Some Mods :) See build thread for details
If you do a body lift you shouldn't really go over 1". Body lift does nothing for your ride except increase you center of gravity. Suspension lift gives you added suspension travel if you choose the right one. New extended Coilover gives you a better ride and increases travel.

Finally something I know a little about. Body lift does just that raises the body higher while keeping everything else where it is. Including the axle thus being very ineffective when it comes to off roading because you still have the stock ride height. A suspension lift will lift the axles and everything up higher giving you the clearance you need. Cost wise a body lift is what you want but if you want t done right and safe like everyone else is saying go with a suspension lift dude.

Thanks guys. .. actually quite a bit. .. now the bigger question . What lift would be a decent one? I would like a 6 -7 inch lift something moderate not too over the top .

3.5' RC lifted struts with RC UCA Alcan rear leaf spring upgrade with 300lbs added weight+1" lift built in. Adjustable Alcan Shackles set to add an extra inch which equals to a 2" lift in the rear. 37” Maxxis RAZR M/Ts with 1.5” spacers 8” BAMuffler Tuned by Bully Dog Tuner
I know this is an older thread, but I have 3.5” up front and 2” in the back. I have adjustable shackles in the back that I’ve tried lowering but I don’t like them that low, I have quite a bit of nose dive, maybe more than factory. Is there like a 1” body lift kit that only goes on the front of the truck, or would that strain the rear cab mounts?
