Anyone know of any good places to go off-roading in Elizabeth City NC or close to that area?
Want to go on some trails since the ones I usually go on here in VA are closing all down or becoming more of ATV trails.

I know I'm a little late to this conversation but I want to go down and hit carova beach sometime just because. Its only about 4 hours from me. Also saw something about a ferry out to cape lookout where you can drive on the beach. Wonder if you can camp there? If nothing else it would make for some great pictures.

Carova Beach is actually considered a road. If you google map it it goes all the way up to VA state line where its fenced off. There is a small community right on the boarder. I think there are a few side "roads" that go threw the dunes but I'm not 100% sure. I think wheeling in its truest meaning would be frowned upon there. And I know nothing about Cape Lookout yet. I would love to do both sometime. Need to do a little research on Cape Lookout. Check out youtube for Carova Beach, quite a few video's on there.

Awesome, I'd like to do that once it warms up, wheel a little and spend some time just hanging out on the beach. Maybe we can get a small group of guys from the forums to go. Have a small meet. That would be a blast.

Heck yeah, should have a new truck by then too. I test drove a truck identical to yours a few days ago, it was awesome, I can't believe how much room you have inside. I just want the 6.5 bed so it will have to be a DC.

March 12? I'd love too, I'm in the process of selling my truck to my dad and buying a 14. If I find one by then and am off I'm down.

We should start a thread and invite local members who want to go! But I'll need a 4x4 first.

That's actually a good idea, would love to have a bunch of tundras ride out to the trails up towards Shenandoah like the jeeps do

That would really be cool, I need to head back out to Harrisonburg again and check them all out. I hope I get everything done by the 13th but time is against me right now... Lol we might try something in April, should definitely have something by then.

    Corova was awesome
Would of enjoyed it better if I didn't run into some unforseen issue that hindered my truck from fully performing

Well I'm Def planning another trip sometime soon will have to get you to come. No pics, just a short video I'll have to upload here soon.

My truck, well I took a BIG dip and the back axle pretty much touched the frame and the clamp on exhaust cut my abs wire in half so I lost my trac control, 4wd, and abs so I had a 2wd tundra deep in some sand. Spliced the wires back today but have to get to the dealer to get it permanently fixed.

Oh my goodness! We you hauling arse when you hit that hole??? I can't believe that she flexed so much. I almost bought my truck today but she had a huge panel pushed in low on the door so the hunt for my new truck continues.

    Yeah
Was going a good speed and didn't see the hump drop off as bad as it did
    Lesson learned tho lol

Dam, that sucks, specially when you look hard and think you found the one you finally want to go get. You really should check out pearson toyota here in Newport news. They have about 4 or 5 in the lot
