What is the difference between the Limited, Pro and Platinum stock headlights?
    Blacked out housings? Bulbs?

Can anyone confirm that the 2016 limited has the led daytime running lights? That's what the brochure says.

Do they make a harness? I heard you can't just plug and play.. What are my options? I don't want a total aftermarket headlight. I like the OEM and OEM DTL. I'd use an aftermarket harness if I could go that way. Anyone have any ideas?? Helllp

Surely someone has a set up that's plug and play, right? Why did they make this so difficult ? Pisses me off

If I'm reading this right, you don't have drls and want them without touching your factory headlights, if so here's a couple options. I am doing this on my 08. Didn't get a price on the first one's, but I believe that you can get them already color matched. The second option is get them from eBay or Amazon. $184 on eBay. I got mine from eBay and they are well made, probably more so than the factory panels. So you will have 2 sets of panels, but if you ever want to do a retrofit or aftermarket headlights you can always go back to your factory and sell the other to recoup your money. These lights are plug n play to a extent. You will have to wire them to a source. I am running mine to my ignition fuse via fuse tap, that way they come on when I start my truck. This alleviates splicing into your factory wiring. It also comes with a control box if you want to get creative with installing a toggle switch inside for anytime operation. Note the one's from eBay or Amazon are color specific, so more than likely you will have to get them painted. $60-100 I would say is a good estimate. Hope this helpsuploadfromtaptalk1456177617285.jpguploadfromtaptalk1456177626271.jpguploadfromtaptalk1456177918133.jpg

Thank you so much for the reply. If that's my only option then I'll go that route but essentially I want the exact same headlights that come on the platinum and 1794's with the DTL. I have the limited. I thought about buying the factory platinum factory OEM headlights but I heard you can't just swap them bc of the plugs or extra wires.. Wondering if there is an aftermarket converter so I can just buy the platinum or 1794 headlights.

There was a member who was making harnesses for adding the Platinum headlights not too long ago. He was doing retrofits for a lot of people, and they wanted to add the LED DRLs from the factory headlamps. I believe his username is AV1597, but don't quote me on that.

I wanted to do this to my 14 but it's way to complicated for my taste so I gave up on it. I also really liked the DRL led too. It requires a whole lot of wiring and fabrication. I haven't met anyone on here yet who's done it successfully. :(

Funny you asked.. I just pulled the trigger on some yesterday. I got ahold of AV1597 and he is making mine as we speak. He orders aftermarket replica platinum/1794 headlights, takes them apart, wires them so they fit a limited or an sr5, then reseals them. From what I understand you just have to run the power and ground for the LED strip and that's it. It'll come with everything you need. Oh and you'll cut one wire so that your amber DTL won't stay on, they will just be used as your blinker. I'll post pics when I get mine installed. I probably won't get them for two weeks but I'll post about it when I'm done.

No sir. The only blacked out lights are the TRD Pro headlights, which do not come with the LEDs.

The 2017 has DRLs. They are the amber front lights. There is no LED or full length of headlight DRL like the Platinum or 1794.

Yeah, Toyota's sneaky like that... When you hear DRL, you think LED strips... not amber bulbs. When you hear Keyless entry, you think doors unlock automatically when you get near... not a 90's style remote fob.
