I have been working with Doug @ Evil Manufacturing to design and develop a rear diff skid that will fit the 07 and up Tundras. He looked at a Tundra recently to see if this was feasible and his guys came up with a rough draft. He is going to get me a CAD drawing in the next few days and I will update this thread with that and any additional information that I get. Here are the specs so far:

    Design Requirements
    - Completely bolt on
    - 3/16" or 1/4" steel depending on weight and strength expectations.
    - Skid will be designed to be as tight as possible around diff. Probably hang no more than 1/8" from diff which includes the width of the 3/16" material.
    - Texture powder coating included
    - Cutout for the drain plug
    - Axle attachment points on side of diff

Pricing will probably start around (TBD new design). Shipping will be an additional charge. I should have a new CAD drawing of the product in the next couple days with full specs and fitment. From there we will need at least 10 guys to commit for this to go into R&D and then production. He will require a deposit for each order to start the R&D but that won't be collected until it's go time.

    Other Notes

    1. Shipping areas ARE NOT restricted. He can ship anywhere but the cost is on you.
    2. Group buy needs a minimum of 10 participants for R&D to start and is not capped.
    5. R&D time is about a week and half and then about another week or so to ship once in production.

If you are interested in this:

Sign up by replying to this thread. There is no commitment to buying anything until after the CAD drawing has be provided. In order to move forward with a prototype there needs to be at least 10 commits with a deposit that will start R&D. This period will last for about a week and a half that will result in a finished product with specs, pics and install. Once this is complete then the product will go through production.

Also I am not responsible for anything related to the product, install, the purchase and dealings with Evil. I am just a man trying to get a quality skid made for us lol.

Betsty has a front, trans, and fuel tank skid. Not sure if I need a rear diff skid too as she hasnt seen any real trails....but maybe.

That's Ramon's quote, not Roman... As long as they make them nice and tight, I'm in. Don't want a big hunk of metal hanging low and hitting everything.

Why would anybody commit to a product they know nothing about? We have almost no information on how this thing will look or perform.

But I'm subscribed for more details.
