Yeah I stared with a 2007 corolla that I bought in 2014. When I paid off The Truck, I upgraded my daily

No way I could do what I do if it was my daily. Its always down for upgrades

    None, yet....
and considering how expensive those things are, its kind of ridiculous that people drive them like that on purpose. I was browsing the new Polaris turbo razr and its over $30k..

razrs feel very top heavy to me. I can see how they roll easy. I talked to someone in the desert. His daughter was doing donuts at the campsite and rolled it bad enough to hurt her neck

The funny thing is that a stock rzr will gerarally be more capable than a LT/SUA Toyota.

Mid travel is the answer for most of us, that’s what I’m going for, bypasses front and rear and might relocate shock mounts in the rear to fit a nice bigger shock under there with no surgery IF a capable shop can be found. I might buy an old 4Runner and make that LT, a 3rd gen or older 4th gen.

Depends on definition of More Capable. There are things the Razor can't do that my truck can do and there are things the Razor can do that my truck can't do.

But station wagon LT = Tundra mid travel?
Why no LT for tundra instead of paying $xxxx+LT$xxxx which can add up to pay off your tundra LT? At least half depending how wild u go.

Because.......I can take the 4Runner through tight trails the tundra can’t and still mob high speed through open terrain. The tundra is when I want to be the big bad wolf, still capable but just not as fast and go anywhere like the station wagon.

Based on that alone, that's definitely an eliminated Option for me then. Thanks I didn't even think about the material weight, tundras are heavy girls as it is well that's definitely not gonna be the kit I go with then. It appealed to me because it just included everything. But thank you for letting me know!

Oh for sure. I’m not a stranger to long travel by any means. Spent tons of money on my tacoma chasing the capability I was liking for. However, it was never enough haha. The reality is that for me, my Toyota was never going to be a trophy truck, so I’d rather just have a capable (cheaper) side by side that can do almost anything pretty well. I like the fact that you can flop a rzr, without killing it as well.

As long as people don’t expect it to perform like a fully built tube chassis truck, lt is fun. I just got tired of all the money and maintenance so sold that, bought this tundra and will just have some toys to play with.

Yeah a Razr will never do what I want so never going down that route. Plus I can't justify 30k for a toy I have to haul around to use.

What do you do that it can’t do?

Edit: obviously no rtt on it or anything so I get that.

Honestly thank you guys for the real input. If I were to ask this on Tacoma world (I had 2 tacos before) 90% of the replies would just be "you're an idiot" appreciate it!

haha - Can't carry enough for a 4+ day trip - fuel, wood, food, camp gear, spares, water. Maybe but would be pushing it and i would have to trailer it there and set up a basecamp.

Decide on what you really want to do with the truck. LT may not be the answer but sounds fun and costly. Most overlanders don't need LT

Nope not enough trucks to change the whoops - they are like cockroaches around here. They are everywhere - there are about 135 houses in my subdivision and i bet there are over 40 SXS. Every Saturday there are at least 20 lined up in the street for their weekly trail run.

@ExpeditionOverland consider looking at a used kit - they show up from time to time and I might have a lead on one or two.

I definitely will thanks and yeah you know thinking about it dreams aren't always practical lol I've actually been looking at the icon stage 5 now. Seems like a good amount of lift for what I'm looking for (3") I like what I see in the icons and I'm sure that's better quality than pro comp

I have direct experience. A stock razr is not as fast as a LT tundra; through big stuff or even on the flats. It can't even take tighter turns because it might roll. The only advantage it has is that its small and it can fit through tight spaces.

I have never been on a trail that I couldn't get through because my truck was too big. I'm sure there are some rock crawling trails I can't do, like the rubicon, but I have no desire to do pure rock crawling trails. I've done many "jeep only" trails with no problems. Just have to drive carefully and have good spatial awareness.

Icons are extremely overpriced. If you are going that route, you'll be better off with other kits and Fox/King/ADS shocks

    Howdy,

We're a little late to this party - going to try and answer some previous questions about our two Tundra kits but feel free to ask away in the meantime...
