Wanting to dechrome. Trying to decide if I want to color match my hood bulge and chrome around grill and go with black bumper end caps? Or color match bumper end caps and go with black around grill and hood bulge. I am so indecisive. I am also going to remove the bed side decals and replace them with black ones as well. Pics would help.

Personally I would color match everything. But given your two choice i would color match the grill and hood bulge and black out the end caps.

Color match everything. Look up an MGM pro, or the sport.

I agree with post #2, if you have additional funds color match the front bumper caps. Why? The center of your front bumper is already black so black end caps will blend in well, if you paint the grille surround and hood bulge black it would stick out like a sore thumb in my opinion. Find a picture of a plane Jane base Tundra in your color and you can see what the black surround would look like (you can "built" one on Toyota's site).

What have you decided on doing? I'm trying to figure out if it would be more cost effective to have my current chrome bulge and grille surround painted at a body shop. @Roman no longer paints "blazing blue pearl" since its technically a custom color so not sure what my options are here. Thanks.

I have searched far and wide for my color and cannot find it in vinyl. Out of options at this point unless I pay an arm and a leg at the Sparks Toyota page for already painted pieces. Sparks charges +250 for every item painted. Hood bulge isn't an issue. I can get that from @Roman already painted. It's the end caps and the pro grille surround that causing me a headache.

@DecalsByDesign is a good friend of mine. Maybe he can chime in on color. He did my bumper caps and they match perfectly.
Call and ask for Matt for his recommendation on which color to use. ‭+1 (970) 401-3993‬

I've wrapped my hood bulge, front caps, mirror caps, door handles and currently have the rear caps off, wrapping this week.

There's a couple of active threads on the topic on here. Search for MGM vinyl wrap and vinyl wrapping end caps.

    Same same.... but diffferrreeeeeent. :spending:
Fellers is my primary supplier, without dealer pricing, metro is slightly cheaper and allows you to buy footage rather than yardage up to a certain amount.

Had a shop use oracle wrap in the fall on my bumper end caps, front and back. Rears have held up well but I'm having the fronts re-done as soon as the weather improves. There's a small spot on both sides that curled up and the shop has agreed to re- do them.

Overstretched vinyl. Any chance you can share a picture? I’m still trying to figure out what other shops let out of the shop vs. myself.

I had it done late fall, and weather was cool and damp. That quickly turned to cold, snow, sh&ty winter and I think moisture got in the seams.

Line-x them, gets rid of chrome and protects it. Line-x in an episode of mythbusters survived a shotgun blast point blank and a C4 explosion, shits good!

If this is over $40, I would be surprised:

You could always color match hood bulge and get custom bumpers, if the funds allow!

I am having the same debate myself.
After seeing this, I think orange with black highlights would be great. I think I will go black bumpers with color matched grill/scoop. Looks sick

@Samoan Thor do you have any straight on pics of front and back? Does the line x match the black plastic in the middle of the front bumper? Thanks!

How much of this vinyl would I need to wrap just the front two end caps. I ended up buying color matched hood bulge and grille. I’m leaning towards matte black for the rear, I’m just not a fan of color matched on the rear bumpers.

Should be able to pull it off with one yard for the front and one for the back! You could potentially get a 3rd cap out of each yard if you cut pieces ahead of time. Room for error.
