When I was a kid growing up, we didn't have a ton of money, and maple syrup in England was very spendy. My aunt, who lived in Canada at the time would bring over small bottles every two years or so. Somehow, a family of 4 would eek out that supply through seldom use and strict rules about how much to use. Even then, my mom would reminisce about how it wasn't as good and flavorful as the good old days.

So, I give my mom a Quart a year. She loves it, it's just as good as the stuff she remembers and she can use as much as she likes. She says it reminds her of when she was a kid and her and her mom would get hold of some...

As for the rest, I'm feeling mildly gluttonous writing this but that's for me and wife. We have oatmeal every day with it and on Sundays I make crepes... I think you guys call them surrender pancakes.

I take it you're not rwallly a whiskey guy, Sean. That hodgepodge speaks 'party assortment' and I'm guessing someone gave you that awesome Woodford as a gift?

I'd be pleased to show up with beer and drink your whiskey! But, like @Pudge alluded to, you've only got one bottle of really good stuff-- which is why I guessed you're not a big fan. I think it's cool you keep that on hand for guests though; I can tell you and C are definitely top-notch party hosts!

I do it all without measuring so we’ll see how this goes.
    1. Line a baking/cookie sheet with parchment paper
    2. Lay out a package of bacon on the parchment paper. I like to use medium to thick cut bacon.
    3. Sprinkle brown sugar on both sides of bacon strips until there is a thin layer of sugar. Press the sugar into the bacon. Then lightly dust with a few more dashes of brown sugar. (This will caramelize during baking so don’t be stingy)
    4. Mix a small amount of Maple syrup and Knob creek bourbon at about a 3:1 ratio. Not too watery not too thick.
    5. Drizzle MS/Knob mix on the sugar covered bacon until all the sugar is lightly moistened.
    6. Lightly sprinkle pepper flakes on top of it all to your liking.
    7. Bake for 20-25 minutes at 405 degrees. Just until sugar is melted and light brown crust is just starting to form.
    8. Remove pan from oven, remove bacon from pan, and cool bacon on a rack or plate for 3 minutes.
9.Chow down on the bacon with a shot of Knob Neat on the side.

    Enjoy...

If you’re out of Knob i like to use Woodford Double Oaked. Gives it a little hint of oak/smoke
