BTW, what are you guys using to lube the sway bar into the bushings? Just grease?

I just got done with my install. Really compliments the rear sway bar. Granted I just took it around the block, but it does feel planted more. I’ll put some miles on it Monday. I didn’t really notice any less nose dive, but coming from the 4Runner, the tundra stock was a vast improvement.

Installed last night... took a bit longer than @nk1794 because I didnt have a nice inpact like he did... That and had to find a way to brace the bolt that connects the swaybar to the link... Bolt kept turning when I was trying to remove the nut... also... Skid plate is a B!@$ to put back...

Have not driven much yet but will update on that later... but so far im loving it! lol

Good job! The impact gun definitely made it easier. I know what you mean about the skid plate. I'm swapping mine out with the TRD one this weekend. :)

Nice! I have the TRD one on mine... Also helps to have a nicer set of Allen Wrench... That was also a pain... lol TRD Skid Plate has 4 size bolts/screws... 15, 12 and an Allen... and I think 19 or 17 for the tow hooks to be removed, cause that also holds up the skid plate... lol blehhhhhhhh it was working on the truck though and the weather was nice! only thing that really sucked was getting bit by mosquito... stupid Florida...

Sounds like a lot of work for the skid plate install. Thanks for the tip.

I'm trying to decide between the TRD skid or an RCI. Let me know how it goes this weekend!

Sure. I went with the TRD because it's a little wider on the side.

    Awesome install video NK!

I'm still on the fence. I'm not an aggressive turner to notice dives or my body needing to compensate, and I do like the current ride with the back sway installed. If I installed the front too, I think the greater recoil over bumps would bother me. I guess it's what I value more, sportier or softer ride. I might be doing sound upgrades so I need to pick my mod battles lol.

Thanks. The stock stereo sucks so it definitely need an upgrade. I’ll do that at some point.

The front sway bar definitely give the truck a sportier feel but it’s not a harsh ride. It’s still really comfortable in my opinion.

Installed my TRD front sway bar Sunday. I have noticed and immediate settling of the front end, does feel quite a bit more planted as others have mentioned.
This planted felling from my perspective is a big improvement. Uneven roads, potholes, expansion gaps are just sucked up without being transmitted back through the steering wheel.

The truck does corner flatter and is more controlled, the ride has remained the same, with no added harshness. IMO this is a lot of bang for your buck upgrade. I installed mine in under 45 min, straight forward, thanks to the forum for posting Torque Specs.

Anyone on the fence, go for it I have enjoyed this upgrade more than others.

You pretty confirmed what I've been saying. Money well spent. The red tow hooks look awesome. That's next on my mod list. I'm going to try and powder coating.

NK1794, my powder coat guy had a perfect match to the TRD red along with 4-5 other reds. I'd imagine your local powder coat shop has the same, take a few red samples and hold them up to your TRD parts to confirm before you decide on a color.

I’ll be attempting to do this myself. My first time so not sure how it’s going to turn out. Wish me luck. I'll be using this red from Eastwood. https://www.jegs.com/i/Eastwood/352/10010105/10002/-1
Not sure if it would match the TRD red or not. I'll have to test it out on a scrap first. If you happened to know the part# of the TRD powder please let me know.

I actually hope the TRD bar is still hollow (just smaller ID). A solid bar is about the most inefficient design possible.

This thread is very long.. does swapping in this sway bar make a need to realign the front end?? Can't wait to get this and get my new tires on :headbang:

Just installed mine last week ahead of 2 hr trip. Compared to the rear sway bar it’s not as effective but as someone pointed out it replaced the original front bar vs no rear bar to begin with. Adding the rear reduced sway about 2/3 vs bar. Replacing the front reduced sway about 1/4 compared to the original bar. That said, for me it was worth the $$$ since my wife complained less about the movement with each mod. Next up is 3 hr trip to Reno.
