I just took the carseat base for my son out of my truck about a week ago and it left some pretty good imprints in the seat. Hoping it would all eventually return to the original shape but it's not looking too good. Anyone know a way to remedy that or will I have to get the seat re-done?

I have carseats in my truck all the time. Should return back to normal (I have cloth). if it's taking a while get in there good with a vacuum and massage the seat foam.

If that doesn't work I'd say leave it alone, You'll likely have more car seats in the future (conversion, booster, etc).

Thanks, think it might be worth the buy so the leather seats in my wifes new car don't get completely destroyed too.

My wife has seat protectors to go under her carseats. Kids spend more time in her car so they mainly protect the seats from spills but I think they also protect from seat deformation. See below or something similar.

How about something to put underneath the car seats (that don't interfere of course) only when you use them. I'm thinking you will be using them a lot. Buy some seat covers. IMHO.

Just cut out a piece of carpet and put underneath the car seat.

Yes they are worth it, just make sure you use something specific for car seats. Not only do they protect from spills, but they also prevent from deforming because of the built in grips, they add rigidity and traction so the seat doesn't have to compress the foam for it. The link I sent has good grips for the car seat so it doesn't move. There are many cheaper alternatives, but for safety reasons I would stick to something specifically designed for a car seat.

Mine backseat was really dented in bad after 2months of being strapped down tight on the passenger side. After a month and a half the seat looks back to normal so i think it does eventually spring back.
Then i had to move the seat to the driver side for dropping him off at school and i put down two towels and they help but now i want to get one of those seat protectors!
