If the dent pops out the paint will crack. Most likely anyway.

    Not enough space here...
It might pop out, but if not a new bumper cap isn't too expensive.

Heat it with a hair dryer while trying to push it back out. Start with your hand and if that doesn’t work use a little help

"I thought I had enough room". Then how do you want to take care of this? I understand stuff happens so I just let him call his Ins. while we waited. Now the waiting on Them to call is taking place.

That blows. I've seen in facebook pouring hot water over it (same concept sort a as the blow dryer). I've never seen it done for reals, so take advice at your own risk.

The bumper does have the Clear Protective Shield on it if that will help keep the paint from cracking while pushing it out. Probably just take it to the body shop and let his insurance take care of it.

If you put light heat to it and pop it back out the paint might survive .did that on a previous vehicle we had when the kid ran into it with a snowmobile .popped out and paint was fine

Good luck with USAA! My wife’s IS350 was side swiped by a USAA policy holder’s son. It took forever to get her car fixed. Their explanation was that a lot of their customers are on active duty so they allow them more time to respond to calls or emails. I literally had to get the guy’s phone number from the police and call him myself and ask him to call USAA and accept the fault of the accident so I could get wife’s car fixed. It would’ve been quicker if he had been uninsured.

Wait a minute, are the new tundras end caps plastic?

Anyway, get a new end cap. You really want paint issues 2-3 years from now?

The painted ones are plastic. Not going to mess with trying to pop it out. I want it fixed like it never happened.

Thanks for the reply. @T-Rex266 (lol, made me proud), just informed me that they are plastic.

That’s kinda nice to be honest with you. Easy replacement and one doesn’t have to replace the whole bumper.

Those pieces are interchangeable. Meaning, instead of having to purchase an entire new bumper, you can replace just that side. @DroolingOverWhiteTundras can provide you with suggested tips

@Sid Vicious I hear you. So far I have over an hour and 1/2 of phone time with them. They are determined for me to use their Collision Facility that they choose. I have my own preference as far as who I have had a good relationship with in the Past. So we will just hope for the Best and prepare for the Worst.

@T-Rex266 Thanks but I'm going to let his Insurance foot the bill. If it was on me ....maybe I would do the work myself. Just not happy about the time I'm going to have to invest in this not to mention that this is getting into my camping time. They are going to have to supply me with a Truck rental to boot.

You can always go through your insurance and have them battle it out. My wife got tagged once and we made the mistake of dealing with the other person's company directly - never again.

I've had USAA several years and they have always been fast and efficient with a garage fire and a vehicle hail damage! Great company!

Maybe the son had a USAA knockoff and it was USSR! Was this the son!
