    Looking around for ammo online and everyone is either overpriced or out of stock on the rounds I am looking for (Speer Gold Dot 124 Grain Hollow Point).

    I had a few really good sites bookmarked, but that computer died so I am SOL. Any of you guys have any recommendations?

    Nice, thanks for the link. They actually had some that other sites didn't but didn't want to settle for the 20 rd boxes rather than 50. Ended up finding a site called "ammunitiondepot" that turned out to be pretty good and was the only site I found that had 50 rd boxes of the ammo I wanted.

    Never had that problem with them at all. Not sure about the "panic". I always have plenty of ammo. "panic's" don't affect me whether it is food, water, ammo, generators, radios, and other necessities. (oh, and my fully "ready to go" 5 acres in case I need to bug out.) Quite frankly , unless you were asleep, everybody was gouging everybody for ammo during the "panic" which is caused by the unprepared. You must have got a "less " gouged deal during the "panic" from a "nicer" price gouger??? Just sayin. Buy low, sell high. Avoids "panic" situations. "Google" what people do (and their antics) when they wait to finally react and do something during a "panic". Unprepared people cause "panics". Ever thought about reloading ?????? Problem solved.

    That's one of the ones that I had bookmarked on my old comp! Definitely a great site to use for ammo.

    Where I live (Florida) it's tough finding the exact ammo that I want without visiting 5 different stores, and whenever I do find it they only have the little 20 packs. Can buy the 50 pack online for only $3 more than they charge for the 20 pack in most stores around here.

    This is my reason for always buying online. (Pistol ammo anyway, usually I can find my rifle ammo pretty easy)

    Won't have to worry about ammo soon though since my dad is adding 9mm to his arsenal. (He currently makes his own bullets for .270 and .380 and is getting the powder/casings/dyes to make 9mm soon). Really interesting hobby that he started a few years back after reading several books and spending countless hours on the phone with the guys at Hornady.

    Love Speer bullets, the best (although i love Noslers' too). I'm going to be reloading 30-06 and 243. I've never reloaded 243 before, but I've reloaded a lot of 30-06/25-06 in the past. I would be curious what your old man recommends for both. Hunting loads/powder. etc. I'm just getting back into reloading after quite some time.

    Seriously a few years ago life threw me a curve ball and I had to sell off the toys, but to take that money and spend the time with my mom who later would pass away, was priceless and worth it. I just never have gotten back into it and with the job that at the time was new and the crazy hours I work, makes finding the time difficult.

    But yes I am a American.....

    Just giving you shit man. I'm sorry to hear that, had quite a few family and family friends pass away this last year. It's the shitty part of life.

    The craze over AR's is due to easy modifications, wide assortment of calibers, and it's ability to be tailored to everything from CQB to reasonably long range. Plus our government seems hell bent on finding a way to ban em.

    I'm not so impressed with the 5.56, but the ballistics in the right length barrel makes up for the small bullet. What 338 do you have?

    ARs are a very deadly and effective weapon if used in the right situation.

    Personally, I would grab my AR before my 1911 any day of the week in my home.

    Depends on situation IMO. Can't clear corners as well with a long barrel. Would be easier to clear a corner with a short barrel on a pistol..
