Maverick has great food for a gas stop. Made right there. They even make Cinnabons..I just want to be able to eat it.. I'll just stare at it for a while longer..

I've got one a couple blocks from my current place too. At the end of April I'm moving closer to work off Chambers. Maybe 1 minute from the Maverick I stopped at this morning. I'm racking up trail points at a fast clip...haha

Mammoth Gulch might be worth a shot to get access but it drifts up pretty good in two places near the top usually just before you turn off to Kingston Peak trail. Elk Park going up from Apex was definitely a no go yet. I'll be up at Apex again tomorrow am to let the gkids do some more snow saucering.

I'll look there also. I'm itching to hit the dirt somewhere.
That's awesome you get to spend time with your gkids. They will have a blast in the snow.

Everything will be accessible soon enough...Although Brian is under the weather, maybe we can get him to head up to Kingston Peak this summer. He has been to Alice/Fall River from Mammoth side. I've been about half way but much cooler with some more Tunnys along for the fun...

Yea. Praying the doctors can get Brian back on his feet again. Not the best situation but at least he's being treated and not ignoring it.

switzerland trail should probably be pretty clear. most of it is on a south facing slope and melts off pretty quick. you could probably do some exploring off rampart range too. i'd just caution you on the yahoos near the mt herman end.

A guy at work has mentioned Switzerland trail before. I tried to go to Pol Hill last weekend and found out I had to go through Estes to get there. I guess 36 is still closed. Ended going pending pavement up to Pinewood Reservoir.

Were you coming from the Granby side? Then yes, you can't get through RMNP yet. If you're coming from the Denver side, Pole Hill is before you hit Estes. At the top of the neighborhood, there's a gate and it's usually closed in the winter months. I haven't been up there lately, so I'm not sure if it's open since it's been pretty mild this winter. There's also some stuff off 7 near Allanspark or head up to Gross Reservoir above Boulder.

I bought gas just south of Watson Lake in 2011 on my way up at an old single pump shack and 4 liters came out to be near $6.50... Cigs>>>$15...hoo wee!!! And to top it off the cigs came with a pic of diseased lungs on it. Another time a pic of a pregnant woman.. No Marlboro man...

I was coming from the Longmont 287 way. Stopped at Carter Lake and talk to a ranger. That's what they told me.
