Replaced my head unit on a 2017 DC a month or so ago with a alpine unit with a control box. Are the stock headunit's worth keeping around. It looks nice but in the way of music sound it is pretty generic. Is it worth using up shelf space to keep it around in case I ever sell my tundra ( NOT), or just let it go.

Has anyone ever dug into one of the JBL head units to see why they don't put out? I heard from a source the reason they don't put out anymore is because of blown speakers when in warranty.

Love the Alpine. I got the ILX 207- Can plug a control box into it and control 8 12V relays. All my lights and winch will be controlled from the touch screen.
