I pulled the console to install my new radio and I noticed there are wires wired up to these blank plugs. Why is that? I thought about installing toggle switches down the road for various things but I wanted to find out why these would have wires running to them.

    Thanks in advance!

It's cheaper to make one wire harness for all trucks than to make different ones for lower trim models.

Makes sense. So would it be safe to assume that on an SR5, I could disconnect the wires without causing any issues?

I also have an SR5 & have the same situation. They are not really connected to anything, just sit in the blanks.

I had no issues leaving them hanging.

Good spot to put the switch for LED bar, DRL 2018 LED headlights, etc. What are they for in higher trim models?

That's exactly what I plan to do - keep the wires nice and neat. I know you can't see them but wire organization in my trucks has ALWAYS been a huge pet peeve
